CHAPTER 4

1046 Words
Marilyn's POV 4 months later. I never thought I'd be in a situation like this. I mean, who would? I'm just a mere simple girl, with an ordinary life. And somehow I got lucky enough, I got married to the most amazing man in the world, Reed. "Are you ready, love?" Reed's deep voice echoed from the hallway, pulling me back from my thoughts. I took one last glance at myself in the mirror and nodded, although I knew he couldn't see me. "I'm coming!" I yelled back, smoothing down my dress before heading out the door. Reed was waiting patiently by the entrance, a smile on his handsome face. He looked dashing in his suit, the perfect picture of a handsome billionaire. "Shall we?" He offered his arm, and I looped mine through it, matching his smile. And then we got into his car and headed for his family's villa. He had just been awarded most successful business man of the year and his family decided to throw a little dinner in his honor, to formally congratulate him. Although I knew he was excited to see his parents but he was also hoping to see his brother too. Alexander lives alone and secluded, he most times disappears and is untrackable for years. The last time I saw him was on my wedding day, and there had been many family dinners after that yet he never showed up. I was quite happy about it, but Reed isn't. He always worried that something might not be quite alright with his brother and his brother might need help. I tried my best to convince him not to get his hopes up but he just wouldn't budge in his belief that this family dinner would be different. We finally got to the mansion and I hugged both his parents in greeting as they welcomed us both in with smiley faces. We got to the dinner table and as expected Alexander was a no show. I looked towards Reed and patted him on the shoulder as we seated on our respective seats. "Um... mom dad. Where's Alexander,?" He summoned up courage and asked. "Well, he never responded to my texts so I'm not sure he'll come tonight." His father replied and Reed seemed sad suddenly. That made me feel a pang in my heart and I felt like kicking Alexander in the ass suddenly even though I was happy he wasn't here. The first four months if my marriage have been a fairytale and Reed only seemed to be getting more and more romantic with each day that passes. But at night, I kept having those s*x dreams and I once got found out by Reed. Thankfully Reed was so oblivious to the fact that in my dream state I was having it with his brother so he got down on me and gave me a head. By the time I woke up I found him there with his lips filled with my juices and kissed him hard. I made my decision that out of sight is out of mind and I preferred Alexander being out of sight for the sake of my marriage. The evening was perfect, just like many others we'd had before. But then, someone came into the dinning room. "Hey family." That voice, that voice that wrecked harvoc within me.... it's back. He is back. Alexander. He was the complete opposite of Reed. Where Reed was warm and open, Alexander was reserved and mysterious. And for some reason, I was drawn to him, why am I still drawn to him? I had given myself a thousand reasons why Alexander wasn't to be admired and I have a lot of reasons not to admire him but looking at him right now, he looked even more hotter than 4 months ago. Reed quickly rushed to embrace his brother and Alexander got a little girly as he really missed Reed too. "Alexander, why don't you join us?" Reed suggested, gesturing to the empty seat next to me. Alexander hesitated for a moment before sliding into the chair. Reed was oblivious, but I could feel the tension in the air. It felt like Alexander wanted to speak to me but didn't know how to. After a while, My mother and father in law decided to call it in for the night. We made small talk, with Reed leading the conversation while Alexander and I mostly listened. I stole glances at Alexander from the corner of my eye, trying to figure him out. But he was like a puzzle, one I couldn't quite solve. "Excuse me," Reed said suddenly, standing up. "I've got a call to take. I'll be right back." He squeezed my hand reassuringly before walking away, leaving me alone with Alexander. I turned to look at Alexander, who was already watching me. His gaze was intense, making my heart race. "Are you okay, Marilyn?" he asked, his voice low. "Yes," I replied, struggling to keep my voice steady. "I'm just... I'm just wondering why you're always so quiet. Like so reserved." Alexander chuckled, a sound that was both surprising and captivating. "I'm just not as talkative as Reed," he said. "But it doesn't mean I don't have anything to say." His words hung in the air, between us as I wondered what exactly he had to say. Just then, Reed returned. "Sorry about that," he said, retaking his seat. But at that moment, I realized that Alexander had changed. Something about him really doesn't feel right. I could feel it in my heart. "So little brother. You bagged another trophy and didn't think to bring a little drink to celebrate. That's unlike the Smiths." Alexander complained and I smiled as I looked towards Reed. I walked out on them and brought back with me, three bottles of highly alcoholic wine. "Oh yeah... the newest member of the Smiths knows what am talking about!" Alexander cheered as he took the drinks from me. One bottle turned into two and then three and then, Alexander brought out his. By the time we were done, Reed had passed out on his chair and somehow I was straddling Alexander on one of the seats with his face so so close to mine.
