Cateri, Tin Tin, and Liada helped the soldiers rub down their new horses. They stretched a rope between two pine trees for a picket line, and after the horses were tied to the rope, they spread hay on the ground. “Liada,” Autumn said. “That’s a beautiful bracelet you’re wearing.” “Bracelet?” Autumn pointed to her wrist. “Ah, yes.” Liada slipped the bracelet off over her hand and held it out to Autumn. Karina and Kady came to stand beside Autumn. “There’s writing on here,” Autumn said. “Yes,” Kady said. “Very tiny, around the edge of the circle.” “Liada, what does it say?” “Um...what is word for our big animal?” “Elephant.” “Yes, elephant. That say all elephant...um, go again.” “Return?” Karina said. “Yes,” Liada said. “All elephant return to Valdacia.” “Valdacia,” Autumn said
