they sat on the gods SE1 EP2

247 Words
"In the land of the east side, where the Reanger and Leaver rivers flowed, King Heva ruled with kindness and wisdom. His reign was a blessing to the commoners, the Landers. He had three wives, who bore him seven sons and daughters. The monks of Zehona, the mouthpieces of the gods, announced that his senior son, born by his first wife Rehma, would succeed him as king. King Zeenora Palisades Mallory's reign was also good, but only for his people, the Zeenorans. No foreigners were welcomed, lest they be killed. "Only Zeenorans can eat its spoil." Zeenora was rich in gold, core, and fine soil for farming. Lema King came to Zeenora's King, crying at his feet, saying, "Save my people from death, for famine has eaten deep into our land." Palisades Mallory replied, "I shall spare you and your people by supplying enough grain, but your daughter shall be a sacrifice to the gods." Lema King asked for three days to consider this. When Lema King spoke to his wife, Vineer, she was angry. On the third day, when they approached Palisades Mallory, Vineer spoke angrily, "One sacrifice for a thousand souls?" Palisades Mallory replied, "Reason, Vineer." Then Vineer was held captive, and her step-daughter, Andara, was taken to the Dragon Stone. After the monks' prayers, the dragon appeared before Andara and devoured her. Then Palisades Mallory commanded his men to load the ships with grain and send them to Lema with Valor and his wife."
