I get out the truck and walk into the pack house, having butterflies about calling a pack meeting. “Hey man, why do you look like you seen a ghost?” My beta Jordan asked. “I’ll tell everyone at the pack meeting at seven , please let everyone know its mandatory” in told him. I walk upstairs to my aunts office, preparing myself for this conversation. “ Hello auntie” i say as i give her a kiss on the cheek. “Hi my dear, what brings you up here?” She asks, writing what looks like a book on her yellow drs pad. “ Nothint much, I’m hosting a pack meeting at 7, I expect everyone’s presence to be known.” I told her. “ she looks up at me, her eyes questioning me. “ what could be so important that everyone must show?” She questions me as she gets up from her desk. “You’ll find out at the meeeting.” I respond walking out the door.

The pack members are gathering in the dining hall of the pack house, all wondering what i have to say, worried we could be going to battle. “ i know that you’re all wondering why I’ve got you here, and I’m going to tell you. I have found my mate. Now before you all start with negativity you must know that she is an alphas daughter, so she is alpha by blood rights. So there’s a good possibility she could make our pack stronger.” I state, looking at my pack, reading their facial expressions.

“Well I’m excited to meet her.” Jordan said, grinning. I look at my aunt, waiting for her response, but she’s smiling and her eyes are light with happiness. I know she’s been waiting for this day. All she’s wanted was for me to find my mate and give up the temporary Luna title. I needed help and the pack voted to have a “temporary “ luna. Lunas help take care of the pack, the food supplies, clothes etc. she helps run the pack hospital as well, that’s her true passion. I know that when I bring Fay to the pack and we do the Luna ceremony my aunt will be ecstatic to be at the hospital full time again. Her patients are her favorite thing. And with a pack this big we need all hands on deck at the hospital.

The pack meeting ends and I text Fay.

I hope you’ve had a good evening, and was wondering if you’d like to meet for lunch?

Sure, how’s about 3 pm? And I did have a good evening, i plan on telling my father that we’ve found each other in the morning.

3 is perfect for me! I told my pack about you, I know nothings set in stone but I figured I should give them a heads up in case things go in the direction I hope for. I will let you get your rest, good night Fay.

I lay in bed for a hour or so thinking about Fay before I finally drift to sleep. It was a restless night. When it hit 6 am I decided to just stay up and let my wolf go for a run before the sun comes up. We run for a couple hours and I let him hunt and play in the river. We shift back and go home to get ready for the day and prepare myself for lunch with my mate. MATE. A word a worried I’d never get use. I can’t wait to see her. I hope she accepts me.

We decided to meet at the diner she works at . I beat her there so I wait outside for a bit playing a game on my phone. “ hey there” she says, smiling. Her scent sends a wave of calming through my body, something I didn’t know I needed til now. “Hey yourself” I reply, opening the diner door for her. We walk inside and pick a booth in a corner and start looking at the menu. “So you work here, what would you recommend?” I ask. “Well, I really like the tomato soup and grilled panini sandwich, with chicken and no onions” she replies, peeking at me over the menu. “Hmm. Doesn’t sound too bad, except I like to eat a lot of food” I laugh. “You could try the hungry man brunch, it’s a cheeseburger, with eggs, bacon and pepper jack cheese, hash browns, scrambled eggs, two sausage links and toast or waffles.” She says. Now that sounds like a lunch I honk to myself. “We’ll that definitely might be what I’m getting.” I say, and wave over a waitress. We order our food and wait on our drinks. “So about the whole mate thing..” I say, fidgeting with a napkin. I hope this goes well.
