My name is Fay. I’m 19 yrs old. I’m part of the crescent moon pack, down in Georgia. I’m the only daughter of an alpha which makes me alpha by blood. I’m an only child as my mother didn’t make it during the war after I was born. I remember her long beautiful bright red hair and her hazel eyes from the picture my father kept locked up. She was his true mate, a mate given to him by the moon goddess.
“Fay!!” My father yelled, his alpha voice booming through the halls of the pack house. “Yes daddy” I yelled running down the steps knowing he was mad. I snuck out again last night to work at the restaurant. He didn’t want me around humans afraid they’d find out what I was.
“I thought I told you to never go there again!!”He says pacing behind the desk. “ I know daddy but I hate feeling like a princess who can’t handle her own. We shouldn’t hide from humanity because you’re afraid of them!!” I yelled at him. I knew it was for our own good, when I was three the human and wolves went to war. We lost a lot of our pack, along with other packs. When we decided that we would lose the war the alpha of the Salem pack had a witch friend of his do a spell that would prevent the humans from finding us and for the last 16 years it’s done one h*** of a job. It’s like we’re completely invisible to them, only if we stay in our borders.
“I’m sorry that it feels like I’m trapping you in a tower. But I can’t lose you Fay. You’re the only thing left I have of your mother. She died to protect you! Why can’t you just respect my wishes?!” He exclaimed his brow furrowed in sadness. I know I should do as he says, but humans aren’t to different from us. And not all of them are evil. I want to tell him that but I know it’ll make him angry. “I’m sorry papa, I’ll quit sneaking out” I lied, knowing I had a shift at 7pm at Lucy’s diner. It was a 24 hour diner and I started third shift there to save up so I can have my own restaurant some day. My fathers against it of course.
I went back up to my room and to the bathroom connected to it and turned on the water letting it steam up my bathroom. I look in the mirror and see how much I look like my mom. My hair almost touches my knees, it’s the same red as my moms and it holds the same curls as hers. I have my fathers green eyes. I’m not tall but I’m not short, and I have a rockin body if I say so myself. The mirror fogs up and I remember the showers on. I hop in and scrub down and condition my hair before hoppin out throwing a t shirt on and napping til it’s time for my shift.
I wake up from my nap and it’s 8 pm. Crap I’m late! I hurry up and throw on some shorts and my tennis shoes, run down stairs and put the door. I took an earlier shift today since most of the pack was visiting our neighboring pack The dark moon pack, they had gotten a new alpha and it was the welcoming ceremony amongst alphas. I couldn’t go to those things yet cause I was still 19.
I get to the border and move the crystal for my exit then putting back in place with the pulley system I made. Lucky for us humans couldn’t see the crystal therefore they couldn’t move it. I made the pulley system so that I could freely exit and enter when I pleased. I ran to the tree that had my backpack in it with my work clothes and snatched it up running towards the street and making my way to Lucy’s.
When I walked in I already knew it was gonna be a busy night, the high school football team one another game, making them undefeated two years in a row. I changed my clothes and clocked in. “ you’re late again Fay!” Lucy said, shaking her head at me. “ I know I’m sorry. I overslept” I explained to her. “It’s fine my fay bay” she said, using the nickname she’d given me a couple years ago. I hurry up and get to work taking orders running back and forth from the kitchen making chit chat with the other servers. “Oh Fayyyyyyyy” I hear behind me. Turning I see my best friend Sarah grinning ear to ear. “ what Sarah” I laugh. “ there’s someone here for you” she turns and points to Bryan the football captain.
Bryan’s not a bad looking guy, he’s tall blonde with blue eyes. But he’s a year and half younger then me , not to mention human. I walk over to him watching him smile at his phone. “Hey Bryan” he looks up and grins at me. “Hey Fay!!” I ask him what he wants and he gets the regular steak and fries he always gets. I go back into the kitchen and give Bart the ticket for Bryan’s meal. I’m about to walk back out when he walks in. A tall golden skinned man. With eyes the color of the sea, hair the color of the purest black. Then it hits me. The smell of sandalwood and amber takes over all my senses, my wolf Malia yelling mine in my head.
Sarah walks up to him and takes him to his seat, malia growling in my head at another female talking to her mate. Damn it. MATE. I immediately knew that’s what this was, from his intoxicating scent and how it filled my senses sending my wolf into a frenzy. “Mate. Mate. Mate.” My wolf repeats pacing around in my head. Sarah comes back there and whispers in my ear” isn’t he to die for?” I don’t respond, as I’m trying to wrap my head around it. He’s the new alpha of the dark moon pack. I know it from the symbol on his leather jacket. I walk out to take Bryan his food wolves the alpha jumps up and in front of everyone yells “MINE” he runs over to me and put his arms around me, sending sparks all the way to my core, his voice so deep it melts me all the way to my core. He crashes his lips into mine and I’m done for.
