Gerald could not believe the arrogance of this officer. Of course he was not trespassing. He really was the gardener. If the occupants had not died by his hands then they could clear this whole thing up. Unfortunately, they were shrouded in the basement, long since decomposed, and were highly unlikely to come to his rescue. He had to control the impact, do damage limitation, get out on bail, disappear again. That was the only solution right now. He could make a run for it. He would probably get away from the officer; he did not look that fit. But, he knew they had helicopters these days, with cameras and special equipment, not to mention big dogs that could run fast and bite hard. There was no quick way out of this area and if he got caught running then he would never see freedom again. No
