Chapter 13

2068 Words
Jumping ahead Doger has figured out what to do with some trial and error (a lot of trial and error actually) and he was able to set Granny Nana and Peter free from the room. Doger also mentioned that it was not he who made the spell to trap them since he was very comfortable staying in the quiet shed, (but walking did help). Granny Nana, Peter, Doger and Frankie go back to the shed only to be greeted by massive arguing and name calling. It seems that the ones in the shed never stopped talking (which is a first in years so they had a lot of held in angry to express and let loose). This was good since now they can start talking about how to lift the curse. Well after they stop arguing about who did what and when. Frankie did not go into the shed since there was another mystery for her in the mansion. Who trapped Peter and Granny Nana in the room and why? Was it the screaming mother? Frankie had a feeling that someone was messing with her… a feeling she has felt before. She decided that it was not too important to worry about it now and took a look at the photo. She managed to figure out the figure of Doger and wrote his name next to it but when the name faded, the face of the child appeared. So the photo has a young Doger in it instead of an old one. That could make sense. Frankie makes her way back to the room where she was looking at the photo before she found Granny Nana and Peter trapped in their room. But before she could go into the room she heard the front door opening and a familiar voice calling out. Now she knew someone was messing with her. *** T is standing up on a hill with a telescope looking into the mansion. She decided to have a little fun with Frankie and was the one behind trapping the Grandmother and boy in the room. T did have a short giggle at the turn of events that happened but it was only a short one since Frankie figured out the loop hole. It did not matter because what she had planned next would surely be much more interesting. “So when should I get going?” asked a nervous Donny, he was dressed in a gray suit with a black tie and white collar shirt. His hair was neatly combed and if you look closely you could see a touch of blush to bring out his cheeks as well as a touch of lip-stick to bring out his lips. It is common for men to wear natural looking make-up especially if their faces are plain like Donny’s. His face gets more and more pale the more nervous he becomes. T is too focused on the events in the mansion and around it that she does not hear his question being asked. She brought Donny with her to warm him up for the job interview at ‘Find It Inc.’ but if he fails he will just shape shift, change clothes and try again. If he is the only one applying they will have to hire him. T made sure that he was the only one applying. Donny coughs and asks his question again and this time T turns to him, “get going” she says. And with that he is off to do his task. T goes back to looking at the mansion and the possible chaos she has made, although it is tiny chaos, it is chaos never the less. She was saving the big things for later. T also decides (well maybe later) she should check in on Caz and mess up her treasure hunt and she decides that she does not need to be presented for Jo’s since it sounds boring and dull. The watch on her arm tells her she has half an hour to enjoy the games so she goes back to watching. *** Thomas. Tomas is here in the mansion and Frankie has no idea why. He is carrying painting supplies such as paint (duh) and rollers. He walks to the first door in the corridor and opens it. Something hits him in the face which causes Frankie to rush to his side. More objects come flying to him that Frankie decides to close the door. There is a dot of blood slowly turning into a line in between his eyebrows. He places his fingers on it in and attempt to stop the bleeding. With his free arm he lifts himself up and gathers all that he dropped. He calls out: “So I’ll just start painting then. Don’t worry someone called me and told me exactly what to do.” He walks down the corridor most likely to start at the end and work his way to the front in order to get out of the mansion. Frankie follows him as he happily walks along. A feeling of wind passes Frankie and in the next moment Thomas is thrown back. Frankie is able to catch him to cushion the fall but goes invisible before she is spotted by him. The gardener was the one who threw little Thomas around. This gardener is not happy with Thomas wanting to repaint the corridor and he goes towards Thomas to try (once again) to throw him out. Frankie stops the gardener and they have a struggle while Thomas gets up slowly and says: “Listen. I get it. You don’t want change but hear me out. I got paid and I have to keep my word. It is the right thing to do. I will be pleasant and quick. You can carry on with your hunting and you will not notice I am here. Quicker I am done, quicker I leave. Agreed?” Thomas stands there waiting for a reply of sorts. Frankie is holding the gardener back from Thomas who does not see what is happening. Thomas takes a seat on the floor and still waits for a reply. “Whenever you are ready” he calls out to the mansion. Frankie is able to struggle with the gardener and she is able to push and pull him to the outside. To the back garden. They make their way to the shed much to the gardener’s grunting. But with a lot of effort Frankie is able to get the gardener into the shed where he is now trapped with the rest of the people. This comes as a shook to everyone already insides since the noise stopped dead and everyone turned their attention to a fighting gardener and a determined Frankie. The gardener calmed down once he saw where he was and he would be unable to get out to stop Thomas. He pleaded with Granny Nana and even Doger to let him out or to send someone to stop “that young green haired man” from making a mess of the beautiful interior. Granny Nana denied him and Doger shrugged his shoulders. Frankie floated out the shed when all of them started their arguments again. Granny Nana was trying to calm them down but that added fuel to the fire. Peter was sitting in front of the door playing with twigs and sticks. It looked like he was imagining them as characters that could communicate and were going on an adventure. Frankie did not have time to join him and needed to get Thomas to start and finish so he could leave. She floated through the walls of the mansion and saw that Thomas was still sitting on the floor waiting for permission from someone in the mansion so that he can start painting. He was picking at his nails and let out his mini cat-like yawn. Frankie needed to tell him to start but without using her voice because he would recognize it and she was still not ready to confront him about her suicide. So she rolled the bucket of paint towards the wall and it went past Thomas. He took this as a sign and got up, saying “thank you” to the mansion, dusted himself off, and walked towards the back wall to start his job. He placed tape around the door frame so he would not paint over them and he was grateful that there were no windows in this strange, one of a kind, single floored mansion. While Thomas was working Frankie floated to the front of the mansion in the hopes of (maybe) spotting who is toying with her. She had a guess who but needed confirmation. However, before she could get out in the front she heard Thomas say: “Excuse me” which made her stop in her floating tracks. Could he see her? What to do? She decided that now was the time to speak to Thomas since destiny decided to have a say in the matter. She slowly spun around but instead of meeting his eyes she met his back. He was painting. Frankie looked to her left and saw Granny Nana holding hand with Peter. Peter had sticks in his other hand and Frankie figured that Thomas was “talking” to them. He must have felt them go past him and he wanted to be polite. Granny Nana was not happy and Peter was blissful with his sticks in his hand. They went into Peter’s room and Frankie followed. “What happened?” asked Frankie as Peter went off to put his sticks in his toy cars and drove them around. “Nothing,” said Granny Nana, “same as before but louder. They do not understand what is at stake. I young person’s soul should be free to roam not be trapped to rot.” Granny Nana’s eyes begin to fill with tears. Frankie places a hand on her shoulder which makes more tears fall out. Granny Nana is full on crying that Peter stops playing and gives her a hug. Frankie sees now that the treasure can wait since she needs to fix this mess of a collection of families. She places the photo down and knows it will stay since no ghost can get out of the shed to move the rooms around plus I think Granny Nana has too much worry on her mind to be messing around with rooms while Peter may be a bit too little to care about moving rooms. The door opens and Thomas pops his head in. He must have heard the sound of the photo being put down. This man has incredible hearing. “Hello?” No one replies to him even Granny Nana places her hand over Peter’s mouth so he does not make a sound. Thomas walks into the room and has an innocent look around. The thing with Thomas is that he never means any harm and whoever sees him knows this right away. Except the gardener and Peter’s screaming Mom but I like to think that those two are just crazy so they don’t count. Thomas notices the framed photo with the blurred out faces and picks it up to have a closer look. Granny Nana and Peter float over his shoulder to have a sneak peek as well. “Cool picture” says Thomas, “I guess only two of the members get along. That sucks.” And with those words Thomas gently places the photo down and walks out the room closing the door behind but only after doing a tiny salute which Peter does too. Thomas cannot see Peter but I am sure if he did he would have more of a smile on his face to the cute, little, excited boy. Frankie and Granny Nana look at each other and an idea is forming between them. They were not sure how Thomas’ words would help but he did have a point and maybe Doger and Granny Nana bonded without either of them knowing. Frankie went to go get Doger and brought him to Granny Nana. Doger was glad to see her which was different to how it was before.
