The Blame Game

After knowing the truth, after the betrayal. I never wanted to see Darren or Lily again. I don't want anything to do with them anymore. I never got any messages or calls from him after I blocked his number. I never visited my social media accounts either. I just want to free my mind and to help myself recover, to be back on my feet again.

Kylie accompanied me upstairs, right after I knew the truth. I felt like my body became weak and limp. She really handled me with care.  "Thank you, sis", was all that I could mutter to her. She just smiled and when we reached my room. She helped me to bed and tucked me in.

"You started your day wrong, the least that you can do now is rest. If you want to get well the soonest, you should stick to the plan and don't force yourself. It's for your own good. Is there anything else that you need? I will be leaving for school, big day today!" she winked and started gathering her things.

"I'm all good. I guess you're right! Thanks again sis, for taking care of me and for always being there.", I motioned to hug her which she did hug me back.  She went out of the room, down the stairs, off to school.

I was left alone in my room again, memories came flashing back, I saw Darren, picking me up after work, asking me to have dinner with him. I was so tired after doing an Operation for Emergency Surgery, that lasted 8hours.  He was frustrated, he told me that I didn't have time for him. He thinks that I am very dedicated to my job as a Surgeon and that, I always neglect him when all he wanted was for us to spend time together.

I remember during one of our dinner dates, the hospital called for emergency surgery. I can't say No, I am one of the best surgeons in our City. I have this big reputation, and a large shoe to fill as one of the directors in Sun City Community Hospital. He always complained that I don't have time for him anymore, even our intimate moments. We can't celebrate in peace without being interrupted.

Those memories now, I started to recall. 

He booked us a flight to somewhere tropical, only to cancel it at the last minute because I can't go. I had to be in a seminar to cater to new surgeons. 

I felt bad. I figured that I might be the reason why he had an affair with Lily.  Because I never had time for him.
