As Damian slowly opened his eyes, he blinked. He noticed that he was in his bed. H-how did I get here?  he thought He looked at his watch. It was only two minutes to five o clock. He scratched his head. "Was it all a dream? " "No, it wasn't." a voice replied. Damian looked around, alarmed, trying to find out where it came from. And all of a sudden... RRRRRRINNNNG! His alarm went off. Damian quickly turned it off and went out of the room. When he arrived at school, Damian walked down the hallways with no problem at all. Until, Buck, now a big buff teen, stopped him in his tracks. He then dragged Damian to a room with two other people. Damian turned to Buck. "C'mon, man. It doesn't have to be this way." He told him. Buck smirked. "Yeah right." He then extended his palm. "Now, hand over your cash." "And what if I refuse to?" "Then, I guess I'll have to force you to," Buck said and gave the other two a nod. Then they grabbed Damian's arms and held tightly as he struggled to break free. Buck balled his fists and cracked his knuckles. Then he threw a punch at Damian in the gut. He dug into Damian's pockets and took out a black wallet with a chain attached to it. He opened it and took some cash from it. He then took out a picture of Damian and his parents. "Aww... you miss your daddy?" Buck taunted. "Well, I've got some news for you: he ain't' coming back." He held it in front of Damian and began to tear it slowly. "No! DON'T!" Damian pleaded, but it was too late. Buck tore it in two. Damian flew into a rage without realizing that something was glowing inside his shirt and his eyes changed color, then air circled around the room. Buck and his two friends were terrified. Then they realized that they were being carried by the wind and swirled round and round and threw them to the wall unconscious. As the air around the room began to cool, Damian's eyes turned to normal and were surprised to see the room messed up. "What happened?" he asked. He saw Buck and his friends unconscious. He took the money Buck stole from him, his wallet and the torn picture in his pocket and quickly went out of the room. A while later, it was recess. He sat on a bench and staring into space while his food was left on the table uneaten. Then his friends, Zack, Jeremy, Liz, and Christine noticed him and sat down beside him. Jeremy waved a hand in front of his face. Damian blinked. "What's with the long face, bro?" Jeremy asked, "How deep did you go?" "I, uh, I dunno. I've got a lot of things in my mind right now. " "About Maria?" Zack asked Damian gave him a stern look. "No." "Look, I've overheard that she had been receiving gifts from other boys and asked her out to the school prom," Liz whispered. "Wait, what?" Jeremy said They all looked and saw Maria along with her friends and a long line of boys handing down gifts to her but she just smiled and said nothing to them. "The prom's in about three months from now, right?" Christina asked "Yes," Liz replied They exchanged glances except for Damian. "Whatever you guys are thinking right now, cut it out." Jeremy shrugged. "Okay. Your loss." "Back at you with Ste-" "DON'T. PUSH. IT." Three hours later, the bell rang. Dismissal Time. Damian was just in front of his locker fixing his things, but as he closed his locker and grabbed his backpack, he accidentally bumped into a girl and papers dropped to the floor. He knelt down picking up the pieces of paper "I an so sor__" he was about to hand it over when he was surprised to find out that he accidentally bumped into Maria! "Sorry." He finally finished his sentence. "It's okay," Maria replied with a smile and took the papers from him. ....................It was getting awkward........ Then....... "I'm Damian, by the way." He said extending his hand. Maria shook it. "I'm Maria. Nice to meet you, " she replied "What a long line you've got back there." "Yeah. It's crazy" she chuckled "Oh! Before I forget, Ms. Baxter paired me with you for a class presentation next week." Damian scratched his head. "I don't___" "You were asleep." "Oh. My bad." "Before I forget," Maria said as she grabbed something from her purse and put it in his hand, "I have to go. Bye!" then she left. Confused, Damian looked down at his hand. He was holding a card with a phone number on it-------her phone number. A little while later, he went home. He took some chips and Diet Coke, went up to his room, and sat down on his workbench. After finishing his homework, he slouched in his bed and began using his computer. "Could it be?" a voice said Surprised, Damian turned around but found no one in his room. "Who's there?" he asked Suddenly something glowed inside his shirt. He turned and is shocked to find the medallion around his neck! "Hold up! How di---" A blue ray of light shot out of the medallion and roamed around the whole room like crazy. It then trailed to a halt in the middle of the room and shined brightly covering the room, while Damian had to shield his eyes from the fierce light. When the light faded, Damian opened his eyes and saw a huge blue eagle looking down at him with its fierce eyes. "W-who are you?" Damian asked The creature sized him up. "Are you the one?" it muttered. "Huh?" "Nothing." It replied, "My name...my name is... I---I don't know my name." "What?! You just had to make an entrance and suddenly---Oops! You forgot your name!?" Damian cried out. KNOCK KNOCK. Someone's on the door. "Damian?" his aunt called, "Are you okay in there?" "Yeah, Aunt Sally. I'm fine." Damian replied. He slowly tip-toed to the door and leaned his head toward it. When he heard footsteps fading, he breathed a huge sigh of relief. Then he turned to the giant-blue bird. He saw it looking at the pictures hanging at the wall. "Who is that man, boy?" the creature asked. Damian followed its gaze. "He's my father." He replied. "Where is he now?" Damian shrugged, "I wish I knew. He went on a trip somewhere with my mom after I was born, and no one knew where they are, or where they went." There was a moment of silence in the room. "Ok. Now the only problem is---" Damian's sentence broke when the blue eagle just transformed into a ray of blue light and went inside the medallion. "Nevermind." He then said. He climbed on to his bed and closed his eyes. He dreamed, or at least he thought he dreamed and found himself floating in the sky. It suddenly darkened and the clouds swirled around him as flashes of blue lightning and the roar of the thunder filled the area. "Wh-what's going on?!" he wondered. Then he saw a shadowy figure standing right in front of him. He was wearing a suit and a mask. Damian couldn't see the mysterious figure's face but he was sure that there was a mask on him. Suddenly, a bright light shined down and Damian woke up from his dream. He looked at his alarm, and it was only an hour before it went off. Trying to shake the feeling off him, he got up from the bed and went out of the room. He then took a shower and went to school with a slice of bread in his mouth.
