Charming

The distance to Elena's studio apartment takes rather longer to reach. Anxiety had overtaken the overwhelming of seeing Theo after a certain time. She shouldn't have made such a drastic decision in the first place, and now canceling the mission to Xuhetti country seems like a mistake. A huge one. If only she would wait for just one more day. She sighed to no avail. "Is there anything bothering you, Elena?" Theo asked, breaking the ice between them. Decided to not avoid the matter any longer, Elena nodded. "You can tell me, I probably can be a helping hand." "Actually," Elena sighed, taking a moment to arrange the words, "I'm going to fetch something important from my previous apartment..." She explained, dared not to look into his stare. "Well, let's go then." "But, my ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend..." Obviously, Elena had no intention of meeting Tony again. The betrayal is still hurting her, especially when reminiscing how indecent Tony is to make love on the same bed they have been sharing for the past few years. If there was any chance at all, she longed to burn every item they touched in the apartment she rented. The memory clenched her heart tightly, and the lingering aching returned. "Ask me anything, I will be glad to help." Theo offered again. "In return for letting me stay for the night, I suppose?" "Are you being serious?" "Yes, I am." "How about you teleport or become invisible to take my passport from the apartment?" He gave a small chuckle, briefly amused at Elena's request. "Can it be a much more realistic one?" "Then, can you beat him up for me while I go and take my things?" Finally, Theo is unable to suppress his laughter anymore and in between stifled chuckles, he said, "Teleportation is much easier for me, it will be messy and attract attention to take him down." He extends a hand, expecting Elena to take him and lead the way. "Let's go, show me the place." Elena, in her hesitation, at last, had decided to accept his offer. The blushing on her has Theo's heart rushing again, and a small grin across his face is an affirmation that Elena is the one. They went to the only building of a five-floor apartment. With convenient stores and grocery stores next to the building, Elena loved the peaceful neighborhood with a cultural and historical background. Hence, she had chosen the apartment to rent for the past few years. "This is the place, apartment no. 1 on the second floor," she explained, giving the detailed whereabouts of the documents she needed. "Hmm, it should be an easy-peasy task for me. Stay here, wait for me." Watching Theo's back, Elena hasn't recovered from her insane ideas. First, she allowed a man she had just met into her house. And secondly, she even had to concede with the man that he was someone who is from another dimension. How delirious she is, it will depend on Theo's ability to retrieve the passport she requires without breaking into the house or beating Tony. "Elena? You are here again." Here comes trouble before Elena manages to solve the present matter. Turning around to the source of the voice, Elena had known that it was Tony without even looking. With a hand in his front pocket jeans, his brand new girlfriend by his side, clinging to his arm. His cynical remark irritated her, in fact, what kind of charms he had on her that she particularly loves so much in him. Probably, the only things that she loves about him are his sweet-talking and good-looking. Poor her. Seeing the two lovebirds, Elena assured them they would get back to her in no time. Now the only concern is, she had to stall some time until Theo returned. "Is there any problem with me being on this very street, Tony?" Elena calmly answered him. "I'm just afraid you are getting something on us due to jealousy. Actually, I was about to explain to you but you found it out first." Tony clarified his stance without a single array of regrets in his action. "I hope you understand, Elena." Just another episode of your dramatic soap opera, Tony. Elena could only speak to her mind the words she longed to throw into his face. Instead, she forced a smile, "I'm a grown-up adult, Tony. Worry less, I won't do such lousy things." "I'm sorry, Elena. My feeling for Samara is inevitable..." He said, pulling Samara closer to his body. Ah, tacky! At that moment, Elena wished that Theo had chosen to beat him up. He deserved a punch in the face! Tony's attitude is consuming the little patience in Elena. "Chea-" "Baby, there you are." Theo's sudden appearance from nowhere had saved her day after all. "Hey, what takes you so long." Elena unexpectedly ran to his embrace, decided to go along with her version of the drama. "It is a long queue, but your favorite pastries and fruit juice are with me," Theo said, showing the paper bags in his grip. "Sweet, thank you, Theo!" Elena smiled, giving the best of her expression. Turning to Tony, she deliberately told him, "By the way Tony, I'm just being here to show off my man." "Whoa, you are fast. Are you cheating on me all this while, Elena?" Tony got irritated by the fact that Elena had been with another man while in a relationship with him. "Watch your words, boy. You are the one who cheats first." "It is alright, Theo. Let's go back home." Elena pulled Theo back to her side, clinging to his solid muscular arm. "Are you sure, Baby?" "Yes, honey. I don't fight with a child," Elena smirked, joyous at her little success in revenge. "Ah, Samara dear," Elena whispered to her, "Cheating is a choice, a cheap one..." "You---" Elena turned around without waiting for a reply, a satisfying grin drawn across her face as she left with Theo. "Elena, I'm hoping that just now isn't only a drama," He stopped, staring into Elena's gaze. The beam across his face radiates infectious happiness. "I'm eventually infatuated with you being by my side." "Uh..." Tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear, she gently let go of his arm. "What, what you saying." Elena stuttered a little. "Can you be less bold?" "Did I scare you, Elena? I apologize then, but you wouldn't leave me to sleep on the street tonight, right?" Theo's carefree attitude is always the one that is able to overturn the tense atmosphere, Elena could easily ward off the awkwardness, "As promised. Anyway, did you get my passport?" And again, the gleaming smile showing off his perfectly white teeth captured Elena. Taking it out accomplished his trouser pocket, he stuffed it into her palm. "Here it is, mission accomplished." Elena couldn't say a word, but her eyes widened into a complete surprise. She should come along just now to verify his ability to teleport!
