Dodging and weaving through the trees. I have to be honest I'm impressed with how well Alaric can keep up I never expected his speed could be a match for mine.
Without warning I tackle him To the ground the shock on his face was priceless. My wolf licked his face and jumped off taking my dress behind a tree so I could come forward. I stumble from behind the tree laughing so hard I struggle to breath. That's when he took that as his cue to tackle me. As I land flat on my back I pout at the fact he was even able to get me. Only what he doesn't realise is I take this as a challenge and flip up over so I'm straddling him and have his arms pinned at his side. Does he not realise we train daily in combat from the age of 6.
I flash a victorious smile and watch the violet swirl around his perfect cobalt eyes.
"If you're not careful Mon amour I won't be able to contain myself. You are driving me crazy" I loosen my grip on his arms and he pulls me down our lips meeting. This time it's not hunger it's gentle, full of passion. I lay my head down on his chest as he runs his hands up and down my spine igniting sparks as he goes. This just feels so right but what do we so about the laws. It's not going to be something easy to change. "Penny for your thoughts"
I look up at him and sigh "What are we going to do? I mean what we are goes against our laws"
"We will fight for it. If it means that in the meantime we have to hide what we are. Then we must. But I will fight for this. Don't ever think I won't. I have waited all these years for you to know what we are I don't intend to stop that now"
"What do you mean waited? Surely you haven't 'waited' all this time" I push myself up so I'm now sitting to his side
"Hahaha um well yes. The day I realised was the day I swore off any other female. That night the Selene, the one you call moon goddess, came to me and told me of you and all that you will become. What we will become" wrapping his arms around me.
I lay my head on his shoulder "Promise we will do this"
"I promise" we both look up to the full moon. it's now at its highest point in the sky.
"Aria" I hear whispered.
"Hmm" I look up to Alaric
"Aria" whispered again but it didn't come from Alaric. I jump to my feet and focus on where the sound came from. Which appears to be all around. "Its okay my child" this time a lady appears hair as dark at the night sky and eyes that reflect the moon. Her long flowing silk dress shifting in the breeze.
I am in awe Alaric stands at my side and bows to her. "Selene it's an honour for you to appear before us"
This time my jaw drops. This beautiful creature stood before us is the Moon goddess. I drop to my knees and lower my head.
"Stand up my child. It is I that should be bowing to you" she chuckles.
"Ex...excuse me" I stutter completely bewildered by what she has just said.
"What your mate has told you is true I have told him of all you are capable of and what you shall both become but I need to tell you everything" she begins "you are the demise of the Demon king and he has heard the prophecy of two royal pure bloods coming together in unison and reforming the supernatural hierarchy. Morningstar will do everything in his power to stop mixed species mating. You see when we each created our own species we never set rules or laws. However when each of us stepped back to let our creations live and prosper he would not relinquish control and stayed as the head of his species"
"So we have to stop him?" I question as I now have way more questions.
"Yes but first you must learn to use your powers both of you. Alaric you have unlocked speed and strength but there are far more powers that lay within. Aria you have more speed and strength than any other wolf shifter as well as elemental powers. Work together and you can do this. Be as one and all will fall into place" I look to Aaric be he seems as dumbfounded as me.
"wait so" but as I look back to where she was standing she vanished. Leaving me with hundreds more unanswered questions.
