MageGate In two short days, Irenya came to trust the fleetwalker; his generosity of spirit reminded her of Leachim. Early on the second morning, Kael continued his fleet-road. From the lookout, she and Mikey watched him cross the Nyall River in effortless leaps. On the opposite bank he paused, a dab of blue against a backdrop of green forest, poised and weightless. A moment later, he ran up the nearest tree, barely touching the branches. At the top he paused again, one arm raised in farewell. Then he was gone, a blue speck disappearing over the treetops.
