The alarms in the Pentagon were now blaring in full force—piercing, relentless, and echoing through every corridor. Red emergency lights pulsed overhead, bathing the walls in warning. A robotic voice repeated through the intercom system: “SECURITY BREACH. ALL PERSONNEL EVACUATE TO PROTOCOL STATIONS. SECURITY BREACH—” “Split up!” Calvin barked into the earpiece. “They’re closing in from all sides. Head for your exits, and move now!” There was no room for hesitation. The team scattered, just like they’d planned—one of a hundred contingency plans Calvin had burned into their heads. If the operation ever went sideways, disappear. Regroup later. Stay alive.
