The deeper they took her, the colder it got. Sasha's boots dragged across rusted metal grates and cracked concrete. The guards didn’t say a word. Two flanked her, one behind, each carrying electrified batons and rifles slung across their backs. The lights overhead flickered, casting long, jittery shadows on the walls. A humming sound filled the air—a low, static buzz like some mechanical monster breathing deep in the belly of the earth. Then the corridor ended at a heavy, reinforced steel door. One of the guards swiped a clearance card. The other grinned at Sasha, his teeth yellow and rotting. “Welcome to the Pit, sweetheart.” The door groaned open.
