Stella turned around and saw Nina looking pitiful, her eyes red, as if she had suffered some great injustice.
"Stella, I'm so sorry. I've always thought of you as a close friend. I just wanted to visit you. I had no idea you were divorced. I swear I didn't mean anything by it. Please don't be mad at me, okay?"
"Oh wow, you really do have two faces, don't you?"
Stella sneered, ready to shake off Nina's hand when Nina suddenly used her movement to fall weakly to the ground with a loud cry.
From behind, it looked like Stella had shoved her hard.
How interesting.
Stella watched this little performance with cold eyes. She believed Osborne must have just come back and was probably standing at the door watching.
Sure enough, Osborne's voice suddenly boomed from behind.
"What are you doing?!"
He strode into the hall and went straight to help Nina up.
Then, he looked at Stella with dark, disappointed eyes. "I thought you'd be more restrained after the divorce, but you're still so despicable. You disgust me. I was planning to give you this villa, but now, I've changed my mind."
"Osborne, it was not Stella's fault. I somehow irritated her, so she pushed me. Yell at me instead."
Nina leaned weakly in his arms, looking remorseful, her sobs pitiful. But when she glanced at Stella, there was a hint of triumphant glee in her eyes.
Osborne's face turned icy as he said to Stella, "You shouldn't have pushed Nina. Apologize to her!"
Apologize?
Well, that was what truly irritated her.
Stella looked at the affectionate pair, smiling gently as she reached out to pull Nina from Osborne's arms.
They thought she would be angry or argue, but she was still smiling?
Nina looked at Stella in confusion, not understanding her intentions, momentarily forgetting to resist, letting Stella pull her closer.
Then... a resounding slap landed on Nina's face.
"Oh!"
A scream a hundred times more piercing than before erupted. Nina clutched her swollen face, collapsing onto the ground.
Stella had put nearly all her strength into that slap, even making her own palm tingle, showing just how much it hurt Nina.
Yet, Stella's face still wore a serene smile, completely unfazed.
She looked down at Nina on the floor, her voice gentle. "I just had to give you a real slap to solidify my evil deeds."
Nina, with tears in her eyes, sat weakly on the ground, whimpering softly.
Osborne hadn't expected Stella to dare hit someone right in front of him. For a moment, he even forgot to help Nina up.
His face darkened, glaring at Stella threateningly. "Refusing to apologize and escalating things? Are you testing my limits?"
"Testing you? Never."
Stella waved her hand, smiling even more brightly.
"As your ex-wife, I decided to give you one last gift before I leave here!"
As she spoke, she pulled a thick stack of papers from her bag and threw them at Osborne's face.
White sheets flew everywhere.
Osborne caught one, seeing it was a text message log filled with mocking and insulting words. The tone was extremely arrogant. He silently read the anonymous sender's number and felt a bit shocked.
Turning it over, he saw evidence that he had been drugged the previous night. The solid proof pointed to one person: Nina.
Osborne furrowed deeply, his gaze chilling as he looked at Nina on the floor.
Nina had just finished reading the papers, her face pale.
The drug was indeed something she had someone put in Osborne's drink. She had called him to come to the hotel, but he ended up being sent home by the driver, accidentally benefiting Stella!
She was furious and had just wanted to send texts to hurt Stella.
Who knew Stella would show all those to Osborne...
How would he see her now?
Before she could explain, Stella had already picked up her packed suitcase, looking one last time at the man she once deeply loved.
"Remember, Osborne Farley, in our divorce, the one who was abandoned wasn't me. It was you! I left you because you don't deserve me!"
