Chapter 38: In The King’s Hand

I'll be back. I'll make certain that I make it back alive. All I need to do now is put an end to this situation. When I stepped outside the apartment, the soldiers raised their weapons and pointed them at me. As a symbol of surrender and collaboration with them, I raise my arms. The guards began to seize my arms and bind me with chains. "Takahashi!" Tori yelled. "Don't worry, I'll be back," I responded with a smile. I'm not sure if I'll be able to contact them. My life is no longer something I hold. My entire existence will be in the hands of fate and God. People started hurling stones at me as we traveled down the street. So, this is what it's like to be a criminal in the modern world. Life is truly cruel. After bringing you so much joy, it will bring you so much sorrow.

What did I do to deserve such treatment? People began cursing me and continued to throw rubbish and stones at me. This reminds me of when I first arrived in this world. It was the same as the previous day. People are terrified and angry as they look at me. They are staring at me because I look horrible. Saki, on the other hand, was there to defend me. She isn't here right now, but I am confident that she is doing everything she can to help me. I guess no matter how much I hide my true identity as a normal person, I'll always end up in a bad situation. No matter how kind I try to be and how hard I strive to improve, I will always remain a person who has committed unforgivable sins in the past, and tragedy will always befall me.

I wish I could simply go back to being a normal person. How I wish I didn't exist as a sinner on this planet. I had almost forgotten that I was a sinner and a devil descendent. I was so happy that I mistakenly assumed I was the same as everyone else. I almost forget how important it is to understand who I was in a prior life. Because of everything, I was completely distracted. I was completely focused on raising a lovely family with my partner. I need to figure out who I truly am. My previous self will never be forgiven. I'm in this situation because of him. I don't deserve to bear the weight he has placed on my shoulders. He's extremely self-centered! I'm trying my hardest to change, but I'm stuck in his dilemma due to his mistakes.

My hands are encircled by a chain, and my entire body is surrounded by a chain. It is hard for me to get out of this situation. I have no intention of fleeing, and I swear that I will prove my innocence to everyone. Because of the people who were throwing stones at me, my body began to bleed. A lady calls when the guards are about to put me inside their vehicle. "Takahashi!" Saki was the one who called me. "Hey, don't throw stones at him!" she exclaimed. Saki, please don't become involved in my dilemma with your life. I am grateful that you have saved me in the past and that you are always there for me. Please refrain from interfering any longer. "Takahashi, are you stupid? Come on, let's go! ", she stated. I turned away from her and tried not to stare at her.

"Take a look at me! Don't avert your gaze! Stop behaving that way!", she screamed. I acted as if I didn't hear what she said. I act as if I don't know who she is. I don't want to drag her into this situation. If I'm going to die, I don't want her to have to go through what I'm going to go through. "Do you know who she is?" the soldier inquires. I stared Saki direct in the eyes and stated, "I'm not even familiar with her. Maybe she's just a crazed individual. "This is the first time I've ever refused you in front of other people. Please let me lie about us this time. This time, I'd like to shield you. I got inside the vehicle while staring down. "Takahashi, how dare you! I've made too many sacrifices, and you're just going to let yourself die. ", she shouted.

I didn't dare to glance at her again after we left. Saki, please accept my heartfelt apologies. I hope you will accept my apology for what I did. I'm completely hopeless. I'm afraid I'll die soon. How I wish I could still stay and travel through time to meet new people. I was taken to the castle by the soldiers. I don't deserve to be treated like this. They forced me to kneel before the king. The king is staring at me with a look of utter craziness on his face. Why would he be enraged in the presence of someone like me? "Please, King, believe me! Please investigate me if you are truly righteous, and you will realize that I did nothing to harm your country! " I begged. Instead of demonstrating mercy, he became more enraged with me. He raised his sword and pointed it at me.

My arm began to bleed after he slashed it. I can sense how furious he is. "You have no idea what you're talking about, Takahashi!" It makes no difference to me if you haven't done anything wrong! There is no time for you to explain yourself because your fate has already been decided, whether you are guilty or not! You put my throne at risk! The only reason you're being killed is because of your form of dominance! All I want is for you to vanish off the face of the earth! I loathe you merely for being who you are! " He yelled. He believes I am a threat to him, despite the fact that I am uninterested in his throne. "You will be put to death tomorrow!" It's decided, and no one can make me change my mind! You will be assassinated in full view of the public, "he added.

Katsumi POV

I teleport away from him with the help of my pearl. I had no idea he was such a kind guy. He doesn't appear to be interested in taking the king's throne. He appears to be ordinary, but he is a gifted individual. He's also protective, funny, and caring. He has a nice and attractive appearance. It was the first time a man had shown such concern for me. I'm the one who always looks out for my teammates. If the king doesn't kill him, I guess I'll be able to play and meet with him whenever I have time. I'm guessing he's all right now. I tried everything I could to warn him. I hope he is safe and that he takes my warning seriously. I don't want him to die, and I want him to live eternally.

  How I wish I could see him once again. When I was attempting to get away from him, I guess I became harsh on him. I'm starting to feel bad, and I'm beginning to doubt my loyalty to the king. I simply issue a warning and tell somebody that the king considers an adversary to flee. I suppose it's just a miscommunication between the king and him. Perhaps I should inform the monarch that he poses no threat to his crown. Maybe everyone is overreacting because they see a seemingly innocuous man as a threat to the entire country. So, I suppose it's time for me to unwind and reward myself. I should put him out of my mind. I'd already done everything I could to save an innocent man like him. Now is the time for me to return to my room and rest.

I heard the knights chatting about something as I was ready to return to my room, so I tried to listen in for a minute. "Have you heard the news yet? The king's sworn adversary has been apprehended and is now imprisoned in the castle," said the knight. Are they referring to Takahashi? "Well, I'm relieved that he'll die soon. He is deserving of it. He is a true threat, and if he chooses to take the throne, he will succeed, so he should be killed, " The other knight also spoke up. I'm becoming jittery and have a bad feeling. I walk over to the two knights who are conversing. When they notice I'm approaching them, they bow their heads.

"Can we help you, Lady?" they inquired. I have a bad feeling about something, and I believe I ought to ask them immediately. "I apologize for interrupting your talk, but could you tell me who the king's enemy is?" I came up with the question. Please don't tell me it's him. I had already issued a warning and advised him to flee. I hope he isn't in the king's hands, because if he is, he will perish. In the hands of the monarch, not even a person like me can save him. I did my best to convince him that he really needed to leave, so I assume he isn't the individual they are referring to. The soldier responded, "We're talking about a man named Takahashi Fujin."
