Chapter 36: Pack Justice
(Aspen's POV)
The room was quiet, suffocatingly so. No one dared make a noise. All eyes were either on Karl, still groaning in pain on the floor, or on the powerful figures who stood at the room’s center.
The atmosphere was thick with tension as one of the representatives from a neutral territory gathered his courage to step forward. His steps were hesitant, his shoulders rigid with unease.
“Luna Serena,” he began, his voice tight but polite, as if careful not to offend. “If I may... Perhaps we can consider a resolution that... avoids further conflict?”
His words sent ripples of murmurs across the room. A few wolves nodded faintly, eager for a quick end to the standoff. Others shifted uncomfortably, their wolves sensing the danger in the air.
