“What just happened?” I asked no one in particular as soon as Maria and Helena entered the elevator and left.
I really didn't understand what happened in the space of forty minutes.
One minute I was admiring the exotic beauty that Maria was and the next minute she was leaving indicating that she had lost interest while my sister sat there with a satisfied glow on her face.
“Someone tell me what the hell just happened.” I demanded hotly in a loud voice which made Ailene jump in surprise.
“What happened, Ailene? What was all that about?” Keith asked my sister with a subtly accusatory tone.
“What happened where? Why are you asking me? Why don't you ask the person who walked away in the middle of dinner? A phone call should clarify details.”
