Michael stopped when Zoe’s steps grew sluggish. They had no food or water and would need to find some soon.
They sat on boulders. They couldn’t stay here long, only a few moments, but Zoe needed whatever rest he could allow her.
He would have used his phone in an attempt to locate where he was, but if it didn’t show, the effort could waste what little power he had left. He was more interested in saving his battery to use the phone as a flashlight if they needed to travel at night.
Zoe had been quiet since learning Michael was her half brother. He guessed she needed time to absorb the information.
