After learning so much about Rachel’s past from the handsome Deputy Mallick, Bethany was determined to find Michael Rempart and find out what he knew. Back in her bedroom, she scoured the internet for information. She wished she knew more about in-depth searches and spent time going to sites that gave suggestions on what to do when typical search terms didn’t yield needed results.
For several days her task seemed hopeless until, while tracking anyone with the unusual Rempart name, she found a small article saying a fire had badly damaged the Rempart estate in Cape Cod. That’s it, she thought. It was such an uncommon name, and she’d seen a news mention somewhere of Michael sailing off of Cape Cod in his youth.
