Chapter 12

790 Words
Sophia couldn’t breathe. The silence stretched between them, thick with everything she had just said—everything she had just admitted. And Luca… He didn’t move. Didn’t rush her. He just watched. Like he already knew what she would choose. “I shouldn’t,” she whispered again, but the words felt weaker now. Hollow. Because standing this close to him—feeling the heat of his presence, the weight of his gaze—everything inside her was unraveling. Her fear. Her logic. Her restraint. All of it slipping. “You’re still thinking,” Luca said quietly. Her breath hitched. “I have to,” she replied, her voice trembling. “This isn’t something small, Luca. This is—” “Everything?” The word landed between them. Her heart stuttered. Because that was exactly what it felt like. Too big. Too consuming. Too dangerous. And yet… She didn’t step away. Luca closed the distance. Not abruptly. Not forcefully. But with quiet certainty. His hand lifted—slow, deliberate—before brushing lightly against her lips. The contact was minimal. Barely there. But it was enough. Sophia’s breath caught sharply, her entire body reacting to that single touch like it meant something more. Like it always had. “You’ve already crossed the line,” he murmured. Her pulse raced. “You crossed it years ago.” Her chest tightened. “And now you’re standing here… pretending you can walk away from it?” His thumb brushed slightly against her skin. That was all it took. The last thread snapped. Sophia’s hand moved before her mind could stop it. She grabbed his wrist. Not to push him away. But to hold him there. A quiet, trembling admission. Luca stilled. His eyes dropped briefly to where her fingers wrapped around him… Then lifted back to her face. Darker. Sharper. Certain. “I can’t stop,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. The truth of it settled between them. Heavy. Real. “I tried,” she continued, her breath uneven. “I told myself it would go away. That it was wrong. That you…” Her voice broke slightly. “…that you didn’t even see me.” Something shifted in his expression. Subtle. But there. “I see you now,” Luca said quietly. And that was it. That was all it took. Sophia closed the distance. Not him. Her. It was a small step. But it changed everything. Her hand slid slightly from his wrist, fingers brushing against his palm before stilling there. Testing. Choosing. Her heart pounded violently in her chest, but she didn’t stop. Didn’t pull away. Didn’t think. Because if she thought—she would run. And she didn’t want to run anymore. Luca watched her carefully. Every movement. Every breath. Every hesitation that slowly turned into something else. Something bolder. Something dangerous. “You’re making a choice,” he said. Her gaze lifted to his. “I know.” Her voice was soft. But steady. And then— She closed her eyes. And leaned in. The moment their lips met, everything else disappeared. Not rushed. Not desperate. But inevitable. Like something that had been building for years had finally found its release. Sophia’s fingers tightened slightly against him, her body reacting before her mind could catch up. Luca didn’t hesitate. Didn’t question. He immediately took control of the kiss and without warning. he pulled her close and a sharp gasp left her lips as she felt his hardened length. Startled at the sudden closeness, her petite body started trembling lightly. Luca felt everything. From the warmth of her body to the way she tensed as her softness molded against his rock hard growing arousal. He pulled her more closer and wrapped his hand around her securely, his chin resting atop her head. He breathed in her familiar scent “Tesoro…..you are mine now”. Sophia felt an ache in her womanhood because of his obsessive declaration. But she couldn't bring herself to stop now. Time blurred. The world outside the room ceased to exist. There was only this. This closeness. This heat. This line they had just crossed. When Sophia finally pulled back, her breathing uneven, her thoughts scattered, she didn’t step away. She couldn’t. Because now… Everything had changed. Luca studied her face—every flicker of emotion, every trace of uncertainty. “Look at me,” he said softly. She did. And whatever he saw there… It made his expression settle into something final. Decisive. “There’s no going back now,” he said. Her heart pounded. She knew that. She had known the moment she didn’t pull away. But even with that knowledge… She didn’t regret it. And that terrified her the most.
