Separate Ways
We all dressed for our respective activities that evening. I tried to look nice but did not overdo it. Alex and Melanie wore comfortable clothes for their dinner date. When the time came, they took me to the hotel, and we said goodbye to each other until tomorrow evening. I knew Melanie was in capable hands with Alex and that he was delighted to be taking her to dinner. I had no idea how our activities had affected her but hoped for the best. He knew what I wanted and his role in it. Alex walked me into the hotel and to the ballroom where he left me in the hands of the airline personnel.
