Chapter 3

1055 Words
Sandra was moving closer to me, and I could feel my heart pounding. She gripped the tip of my hair, hate and loathing shining in her eyes. "A small bird observed you encircled in Josh's embrace. Being with him must make you feel incredibly fortunate, do not you? I thought about lying, but there was no use. Especially on my eighteenth birthday, I had no idea why I was alone in the cafeteria with Josh. Whether or not I had valid reasons, she would still hurt me. Josh was off limits to her. It is not necessary for you to feel afraid. He does not - " Sandra laughed uncontrollably, her voice as false and small as ever. "Me? Why do you think I would ever consider you a threat? The most ridiculous thing someone has ever said to me is that." Is this not the reason you are here? I took a swallow. "You ought to let me go if I do not make you feel intimidated. It is irrelevant because Josh has already..." "Disapproved of you." A chilly smile appeared on her countenance. "You are not significant to him, so he does not want you. Does not it hurt? " Tears threatened to spill out of my eyes, but I forced them back. "I have class to attend." Remembering how pitiful I was was the last thing I wanted. Sandra was prepared to ruin my day, so I tried to move past her. As her companion Tricia tripped me, she grabbed my hair and pulled me back. I hit the ground with my head striking my back. I let out a painful cry as my vision became hazy. Sandra leaned forward, reached for my hair, and turned my head to look at her. "You redhead, you crazy, nobody leaves me. I am going to give you a lesson for trying to take Josh away from me now. She shoved me back to the ground and slapped my face before I could even start to beg. I attempted to get up despite the multitude of stars flashing about my eyes, but Zoey's foot struck my waist and knocked me back to the ground. "You tiny w***e!" Sandra let out a scream and then stamped my head with her boots. Blood gushed from my mouth and from a nasty cut on my head as I choked. I was unable to resist them, especially the enraged and powerful Sandra. I balled up on the ground sobbing, my hands protecting my head from more hits. I had no choice but to put up with their harassment and insults. I begged the moon goddess to assist me in my suffering. "Hi!" A deep voice caught my attention in the midst of the chaos. "How in the heck are you treating her like this?" The agony ended, and I sensed the presence of a strange being. A wolf, too, but not the same one. I felt his power settle in my veins as his aura enveloped me. luring my wolf away from noise. Sandra gestured to her companions. "Lead the way. She has realised her mistake." I heard them run away in fear, their fast steps audible. Curled up in my spot, I pondered over the identity of my rescuer. Then I heard him approach, his footsteps firm on the ground. The closer he came, the more his aroma surrounded me like a canopy. His smell, a mix of musky leather and rosewood, came over me like a powerful wave. My heart was pounding as I tensed up, suddenly aware of every movement he made. He lowered himself to me and rolled me slightly to face him as he got to me. I opened my eyes slowly, squinting due to the pain and scratches all over my face. I looked at the boy squatting next to me, his deep blue eyes cutting right through. In every sense, he was not like other boys. He was great and majestic. He was gorgeous, but it was not just because of his sharp jawline or golden hair. It was more than his stature or broad shoulders. It was his blue eyes, their merciless intensity. It was his hawk-like nose and the curve of his seductive lips. He caressed my face and I felt a chill run down my spine. "Assist." With blood streaming from my broken lips, I muttered. "Remain calm." As he embraced me, my body pressed against his enlarged chest. Every time he took a step, the pain shooting through me from my throbbing joints and ribs made me wince. "Please keep your eyes out for me." As I went dark, I heard him mutter something. I turned to face the boy's changing room again, shut the door, and fell on a bench. I had underestimated how hard it would be to reject Scarlet. Even though she was not the kind of partner I had anticipated, our relationship pierced my heart like a sharp object. It was not my type, scarlet. Sandra, my girlfriend, was chic and well-mannered. She treated going to the gym and salon like it was her full-time job. Wearing only silk lingerie, she understood how to keep her lips red and greet me in her chamber. Most significantly, she was simple to manage. Scarlet, however, might have been attractive. However, she had a distinct beauty of her own. She was quite evidently a hairstylist and did not wear makeup. Her habit of wearing loose-fitting shirts and denim made it clear that she was not interested in fashion or even flaunting her figure to any males. She seemed so naive and carefree that I imagined it would be rather simple to turn her down. However, my wolf vanished as she raised her big, bright eyes to me. "Hi! Is it possible for us to speak?" I was startled out of my reverie by a voice, and I raised my head to face Gideon' icy stare. I felt intimidated by him since he was so big. I got up from the bench carefully, gathering myself up. How in the hell was he in our section of the school? "Given your presence, I presume this to be of great significance." My hands reached into my pocket. "I hope it is worth my time to explain what you want to."
