It had been many hours since Joshua and Ivory departed from their first date, but Joshua had yet to get her off his mind. Even as he loaded heavy tractor parts into crates by moonlight, all he could think of was her; what she liked to talk about, how she liked to talk, the way she ate ice cream, and shot her first gun. He'd been hauling the components for some time now, since the sun was out early in the evening, some rich guy's land who had three sheds full of junk. He had the next day off, the rich guy was out of town but every day after that for six days were to be spent hauling, it beat not being able to pay for the barn.
