Not The Fresh Start I Expected

Chapter 1 :-[ADRIAN'S POV]:- A month ago, I never imagined I would be transferring to another school and not just any school, but an academy. There was no need for me to worry about anything in my former school. I was known to be the quiet, intelligent nerd student. No friends. No enemies. Just me. My mom had gotten a job in London less than two weeks ago and she was set to resume work in few days. That was the main reason she decided I had to transfer schools, since she couldn't bear leaving me home all alone. We were currently inside her car, heading to Rosewood Academy. I had searched it up online. An elite boarding school mostly attended by rich students… and an all-boys academy. Apparently, my mom got me admitted through a connection with the principal since it was already halfway into the first semester. Since I was in my senior year, I already knew what was coming. Exams. And more exams. Still, I hoped the art club wasn’t full yet, that was the only extracurricular I actually wanted. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard my mom call my name. I looked up from my phone and turned to her. " We'll arrive soon," she said with a smile, keeping her eyes on the road. "You're going to be staying there for months before we see each other… try to make friends, okay?" I nodded. " Is that a promise?" she asked. I nodded again. She had always wanted me to have friends. But I liked my space. I used to be different when I was younger, talkative, loud, social, but somewhere along the way, I changed. Before I knew it, my mom's car was already parked outside of Rosewood Academy. A big gate was standing hugely outside, making the building itself to be barely seen. " Here we are," mom said excitedly, unbuckling her seatbelt while I did the same thing. She turned to me and cupped my face. " Make sure you keep your grades up, have friends has promised and maybe have a..." I quickly pulled away before she could finish. I already knew where that was going. I immediately got down and grabbed my backpack. " Adrian, listen to what I'm about to say." she called, also getting down from the car. She strolled down to the trunk side, where I was already to get my suitcases. She exhaled out and folded her arms with her eyes fixed on me. " One of the fun parts of being a student is relationships... " there she goes again, coaching me about relationships. I signed quietly. She continued while i closed the trunk and held the suitcases in my hands. I adjusted my glasses and looked at her, she was still on her coaching work. " Mom," I called softly, and she stopped talking. I swear, that woman should have been a relationship coach or something related to that. " I need to head inside now," I simply said and she immediately pulled me into a hug which made me to loose my breath for some seconds before she finally released me. I deeply exhaled out. " I will miss you so much," she said, holding my face in her hands, with tears filled in her eyes . Drama queen. " If you need anything, just give me a call. Eat properly. Don't stay up late. Have fun..." she kept going. And going. And going. She had said this for like hundred times now. Her body suddenly collapsed against mine after she was done. " That's enough," I slowly said, gently stepping away. We both shared a smile as I turned to leave, I could see her waving her hands anytime I turned to look at her. " And let me know anytime you have a boyfriend." she informed loudly, prompting me to chuckle. Boyfriend? There was no way I could have one. I knew I was different but I never had friends talk less of having boyfriend. My parents knew, and they accepted me when I came out at fifteen now eighteen. It took them a few days, but since then, they had only been “subtly” pushing me toward dating. Talking about my dad, he had a job in London and always comes home during vacation. Now that mom had also secured a job there, she would be living with him. I walked through the school hallway, my suitcase wheels rolling against the marble floor. Everywhere was quiet. Most students were probably in class. I stopped a passing student. " Hi," I greeted and he immediately stopped on his tracks. " Hi," he greeted back, " I'm actually looking for the principal's office, would you perhaps tell me where it's." I requested, holding my luggages tightly. " I'm also going there to give her these lists, why don't we just head there together." he told me and I nodded in agreement. We two headed to the principal's office together. He was actually a nice guy and we both introduced ourselves. His name was Ethan Caldwell. We got to the principal's office and he knocked on the door before we were asked to come inside. Inside, Mrs. Daniella in her mid-forties sat behind a desk. She wore glasses and a professional outfit. I've actually seen her on different occasions that made me recognized her. " Good afternoon, ma'am" I greeted politely, bowing slightly. " Good afternoon, Adrian," she replied with a smile. She motioned for me to sit. " This is the lists you requested this morning," Ethan informed, handling the sheet on his hand to the principal. " Oh, I'll go through it later." she responded, collecting it from him. Ethan bowed and turned to leave but was immediately stopped by the principal. " Yes ma'am," he said, turning to her. " So, Adrian here will be your third roommate. I think I informed you last week," she asked and Ethan gave a nod. A small relief washed over me. At least I already knew one roommate. " I would like you to show him the way to your dormitory and help him blend with the school activities since he's also in the same class as yours." " Concerning the school clubs, you can come tomorrow to get the lists of the ones that are still available." she explained further, while I gave a nod to every words she said. " Ethan here is also the class president, you can ask him anything if you're unsure." We left the office shortly after. Ethan showed me around the school garden on our way to the dorm. There was a huge tree in the center, surrounded by flowers of different colors. It actually felt peaceful. " Why are you resuming late?, school started a month ago," Ethan asked, as we continued walking. " My mom got a job offer abroad," I replied, " So, I had to switch to a boarding school." He hummed quietly. We barely engage in much conversation, he was clearly reserved. We finally got to the dormitory with doors lined in the hallway. Ethan halted when we got to a door with Room 110 written on it. " This is our dorm room," Ethan informed and I nodded in response. I was actually happy to see what my room looks like and my third roommate... might still be in class. I pray my third roommate would be like Ethan cause I don't want trouble during my stay here in Rosewood Academy. Ethan turned the door handle and the door slid opened. By the time we two got inside, we froze immediately our eyes landed on two people making out on the bed with the two of them half n***d. I immediately turned around and shut my eyes. " …Okay," I muttered under my breath. To be continued...
