Two Birds, One Stone

Ethan         I was in my office, trying to deal with Kyle, who was crying over a few punches. To me, it was nothing, but he seemed to think we were going too far.    “You really went far beating me up, dude. She was traumatized,” Kyle said as he was putting ice on his bruises and cleaned his wounds.     “I’m sorry, but I had to make it believable. She couldn’t know you’re working for me. She loves you, and she had to believe you were in a bad situation,” I said with a smirk. My sister was too naïve, and I used that to my advantage.     “What’s your plan, then?” He asked, wondering about my next move. Kyle was my loyal right-hand man, and he was willing to do anything for me. Even go against his concern for my sister, because we both knew he never loved her.    “Luciano is in love with my sister. We got the alliance, but I plan on taking it all away from him. She’s just leverage. Since he’s smitten with her, she’s enough distraction for me to take over his empire without him noticing,” I said, pretty confident that I could bring him down and fast. Kyle scoffed, and I turned to look at him. He just raised his hands in apology.    “I don’t know, Ethan. I’ve heard about this guy. He’s smart and dangerous. Probably one of the most dangerous mafia bosses in the city. I’m not sure how you can fool him.”     Was he doubting me? This i***t thinks I’m scared of Luciano. I was never scared of my father, why would I be scared of him? He will fall into my trap soon, and maybe my sister will join.     “Oh, I will. Don’t you worry about that. He won’t even know what hit him,” I said. He left, leaving me to my thoughts. I needed to keep planning my attack very cautiously.     Luciano’s father took a lot from mine. He took his assets, his money and his wife. Now both of them will pay for what they did to my father. And my sister, I’m just glad to have gotten rid of her. Although she’ll be useful for what I’m about to do. All of a sudden, I heard the door slam open.     “How dare you sell your sister like that? Your OWN sister?” Ava came in, furiously, “You even gave her to the most dangerous man in the city! We’re supposed to take care of her! She might be in danger, why would you do that?”    I rolled my eyes, she was exaggerating already. Piper was in no danger with that man. I could assure her that, but with her anger, it was best not to feed that fire.    “Don’t worry, my sweet sister. She’ll be fine,” I tried to assure her. She was overprotective of us, being the older sister came with the job. But sometimes, she went overboard, and I hated that, ever since we were kids. She would think she was our mother. Couldn’t say I blamed her, since my mother was not in the picture. Ava had to take on the role, helping dad raise us.    “Fine? She won’t be fine, Ethan! I just hope that man doesn’t treat her badly because I swear, you’ll pay for it!” She said as she was about to leave, but she turned around, “and you better hope dad gets better, because I’ll be your worst nightmare from now on.”     Dad had fallen into a depression after finding out what I did. Of course, Piper was always his favorite. And I was sick of her being treated like a princess, while Ava and I were being mostly ignored. She didn’t seem to mind, she always loved Piper. I, on the other hand, couldn’t bear to see dad giving her more than he did us.     I was killing two birds with one stone.
