Music sounded behind them—jazzy Christmas songs, with the occasional karaoke added to the mix—and laughter echoed in the background. For an office party, it had been pretty fun—Leda had certainly had a good time, drinking mulled wine and eating her fill of gingerbread and fruit cake while she chatted to her coworkers.
