Life isnt a bed of bear fur is the quote most of Orc motivators use. They say the truth folks.Life isn't a bed of bear fur fellow orcs. You have to go out there or you will be i***t like the Khasnah brothers whose farm fell to ruin due to their idiosyncrasies and lunatic attitude.I never got a bear fur or heck even a bed to rest.Always it was the struggle way up.Every risk and opportunity that came my way I took it as I knew once gone it was gone like a slurbow’s arrow.
You need to catch it and make the most of it whatever you have.Such an opportunity came after a few months. The district administrators had organised a tournament calling all hunting or mercenary bands and parties in the town to come and show their fighting as well as tactical prowess which of course was going to be held in the forest.
The teams would be required to hunt down a few animals in a given time and capture the territory held by the other teams.
There would be twelve teams participating and the forest would have twelve areas dedicated to each team.Every team will get twelve flags to show that they captured an area. The team who captures most of the area and has a haul of hunt will be declared the winner.
The winning team would get 12000 gold pieces as well as other goods. The runner up would get 6000.
I thought to myself even if I get 1000 if I were in a winning team it would be enough to enjoy and repair my sister’s heliograph and neighbour's litter. With enough saving for ale and drinking. My father didn't had to pay the rest of the loan as he took the matter with his friend who was the district administrator and a feared local warlord who 'convinced’ the judge to not ask my father for further payments. The other remaining payments for the damages was “happily revoked” by the Judge.I didn't need to worry about the details as the matter was taken care by our family friend. That was one thing off my mind.Besides by working in the forges, delivering stuff and pushing kegs of barrels had greatly improved my fitness level.I was feeling stronger than before and knew how I could repair or even make my equipment.I was a novice and I knew I had miles to go but you remain a learner till you die.
We already suffered enough and now it was a time for me to make a change.
I came to know about this competition from my beloved Sandy whose father was working with the sponsor of the event -Brokbo’s shields and armour who were planning to launch their own brand of hunting gear as well.
This was a big event for Brokbo Troll and Ihnak orc as both were going to prove themselves beside Brokbo was already proven.
“Ihnak you are doing it right?” she asked me as she sat on my lap and held out the poster.
“I guess I am butbut-”I stuttered to say
“,But what you dummy “she snapped
“I dont think I am gonna get a team of eight members or even one for the fact”
I got a light slap on my face
“You have me dummy and some of your chuddy buddies”she planted a kiss on my cheek
“Thats not enough the Khasnah brothers would be there and they would have two dozen and we..”I wanted to say more but she put a finger on my lip.
You can have as many members in your tea.But you must be able to have the ability to pay for the equipment and weapons. The brothers could and I could not.
“You have me remember and some of your best buddies who wont let you down. You just need ten or twelve at the most and we are good to go”
She said as she sat comfortably on my lap and faced me.
“Yeah maybe you are right “ I said.I guess some people dont get the reality. They live in their imaginary world of rainbows and bubbles.”
“Maybe ??You sucker I am right”She hit me on the head.
“You know what I will help you out and my girls will as well.” She said after a pause
“Till then you just rest and practice.Sweetheart you just relax Tomorrow you have a long day ahead. We have a long day ahead.” Her emphasis on we made me confident.
I was about to say something but again she put my head between her breasts and shut me up.
Yeah I liked some rest before the hardwork.
She never let me feel negative.never.
