Day 56 Wolf running - Nikolai

1639 Words

Two days. It had been two days since my sweet little wolf had been shot in our own home. I moved carefully, not wanting to wake her as I climbed out of bed. I linked Mikhail to meet me outside. We shifted and went for a long run the only sound was the crunch of leaves under our paws. The forest wasn’t awake yet, the stillness rather soothing. We returned to the pack house splitting off as we each headed to our rooms. I eased in, seeing Maisie still asleep. I showered, dressed casually in jeans and a shirt, and stopped to brush a kiss on Maisie’s forehead. I met Mikhail in the office and we reviewed all the footage again, I knew we were missing something but we couldn’t find it. Maisie’s training music finally penetrated my ears, I glanced up at Mikhail and then crossed out to the balcony.
