Two months passed, and that was when I discovered the truth—I was pregnant.
I couldn’t believe it at first. The moment I saw the positive test result, my hands trembled, and tears filled my eyes. I sat there, staring at it for what felt like forever. A wave of emotions washed over me—fear, excitement, and uncertainty all mixed together.
How would Albie react? How would his parents react? Would they accept me and our child?
When I finally gathered the courage to tell him, I was so nervous that my heart felt like it would jump out of my chest.
"Albie... I’m pregnant."
His eyes widened, and for a moment, he didn’t say anything. I thought he was in shock, but then, suddenly, a huge smile spread across his face.
"We’re going to have a baby?" he asked, his voice filled with joy.
I nodded, and just like that, he pulled me into a tight embrace.
"This is the best news ever!" he said, laughing as he spun me around.
But not everyone shared our happiness.
When his parents found out, they were furious. His mother looked at me with disappointment, and his father refused to speak to us for days.
I overheard them talking one night.
"This is not the life we wanted for him. He had so much potential, and now he’s tied down with responsibilities he’s not ready for," his mother said in frustration.
Those words broke me, but Albie held my hand and assured me, "I don’t care what they say. You and our baby are my family now."
Eventually, his parents accepted the situation. Maybe they realized that fighting it wouldn’t change anything.
A Wedding to Remember
Since we were starting a family, we decided to get married.
Albie wanted a grand wedding, something beautiful and unforgettable. But his parents didn’t think it was necessary.
One evening, as we sat by the beach, he looked at me and asked, "Do you want a big wedding?"
I smiled and replied, "If that’s what you want, then let’s do it."
That’s one of the many reasons I love him—he always puts my happiness first. He always makes sure I feel loved and cherished.
The day of our wedding finally arrived.
It wasn’t as extravagant as Albie had originally envisioned, but it was perfect in every way that mattered. The moment I walked down the aisle, my heart pounded in my chest.
Albie stood there, waiting for me, his eyes filled with so much love that I felt my worries melt away.
Even though my parents were no longer around to witness this moment, I knew they would be proud of me. And as I took Albie’s hand, I realized that no matter how many storms we had faced, we were exactly where we were meant to be.
We exchanged vows, promising to love each other through every challenge, every hardship, and every joy.
And when we sealed our promises with a kiss, I knew—this was forever.
A New Chapter Begins
After our wedding, we moved into Albie’s house, and soon, our baby girl was born.
We named her Layla.
The moment I held her in my arms, I felt a love so strong it overwhelmed me. She was tiny, fragile, and perfect in every way.
Albie was an amazing father. He would wake up in the middle of the night just to check on Layla. He would rock her to sleep, sing lullabies, and promise her the world.
One night, as we sat together, watching our daughter sleep, Albie held my hand and said, "I never thought I could love someone as much as I love you. But now, I love two people with all my heart."
I smiled and leaned my head on his shoulder.
"She’s lucky to have you as her dad," I whispered.
We had been through so much together—pain, heartbreak, separation, and struggles. But in the end, love won.
The Truth Revealed
One evening, after putting Layla to sleep, Albie and I sat outside, talking about the past.
I finally gathered the courage to confess something I had kept hidden for so long.
"Albie… there’s something I need to tell you."
He turned to me, his expression serious. "What is it?"
I took a deep breath. "Do you remember the time I broke up with you? When I told you that you were a burden to my dreams?"
He frowned but nodded. "Yeah. I never understood why you said that. It wasn’t like you."
I bit my lip, my heart heavy with guilt. "I didn’t mean it. Your mother told me that I was holding you back, that I was nothing but a distraction to your dreams. She said you deserved better, that I would only ruin your future. I… I believed her."
Albie’s hands clenched into fists, his jaw tightening.
"I broke up with you because I thought it was the right thing to do," I continued, my voice cracking. "But the truth is, it broke me just as much as it broke you."
He was silent for a moment, then let out a deep sigh.
"Why didn’t you tell me sooner?" he asked.
"Because I didn’t want to cause more problems between you and your parents," I admitted. "But that was in the past. We’ve moved on. Please, don’t be angry with them anymore. We have a family now, and that’s all that matters."
Albie sighed again, then pulled me into his arms.
"I won’t let anything come between us again," he whispered. "I love you, and nothing will ever change that."
I hugged him tightly, feeling the weight of the past finally lift from my shoulders.
