Turn of events.

First was a deafening silence, then the outburst which I expected.

'You ingrate, is that how you going to repay us, after all we've suffered to raise you, provide for you and this is what you could reward us with' Trisha continued ranting

Well, that was the normal words she always used, perhaps to make me feel guilty, but this time I wasn't going to change my mind. I don't have one and that's on a period.

The voice of my dad was what I heard next, as usual he supported his 'wife'.

'Cora, don't tell me you are f*****g going to turn your back on your only family' he supported back

I almost spat out

''Only family '?

That sent me packing out of their house at a young age?

They must be kidding me.

'With all due respect sir, you are no family' I shot back and tried to hang up, then I heard the voice of my step mom that stopped me.

'You bastard, you are never going to find about your real identity except from us', Then she hung up

This sent shivers throughout my body.

What secret is being hidden from me?

Aiden's pov

My stomach grumbled loudly, reminding me of the fact that I hadn't tasted anything for some days now.

I have been at the underworld hideout, thinking and planning for revenge. As memories of my past began flooding in my blood grew more hotter.

I was just ten years old when my parents were murdered by some unknown faces. As time went on, I did my research and found out that it was carefully planned and arranged by a wicked family uncle.

My parents were head of the five ruling families of the Mafia gang and ruled the Bejin city successfully for years and being the 'first and only' son I was the sole apparent successor but the sad story was that my parents had actually waited for many years before having me.

So when I was born, it was obvious that I was the heir and this brought me a lot of enemies including from family members who had hoped they'll take over from my father but were disappointed by my birth.

From a young age I already began grooming and training.

I was homeschooled so I had no friends and I was always heavily protected by my father's men whenever the need for me to go out arises.

I had come back from my training In the underworld as usual and entered into my parents room to greet them first only to meet with the shock of my life.

I met my parents in a pool of blood with my uncle still standing over their body with a dark look.

That memory remained stamped in my memory for a long time and fueled my desire for revenge.

How he managed to divert my father's men's attention is what I couldn't really understand.

How I was mistreated terribly and he even took over my father's royal seat.

When I was seventeen, I moved out to the northern part of the country and established myself.

I had my loyal men with me all prepared but I knew it wasn't time to take action yet but I was desperate.

My line of thought was broken as a call came in.

It was from my Assistant Yang.

'Ice King, your attention is needed at the company' I heard him say

I was often called ice king, probably because of my aloof character but the name stuck anyway.

'Take care of it, I'm busy'', I answered him back

'Okay boss' Yang replied back and then I hung up.

'I think it's high time I go home now' I thought within myself

As I got out of the building, I heard the groans of people being tortured by my men and Yes, I felt accomplished.

As I got into my Lexus my driver was already awaiting my arrival.

I really need to rest.

Author's pov

'Bang!', a loud sound echoed from the back of Aiden's Lexus Lc. It seemed like an explosion.

Both he and his driver came down to check out what exactly happened and lo and behold

They found the back of the vehicle disfigured and shattered beyond recognition.

The owner of the truck attempted to run away but was quickly surrounded by the cops.

Immediately the cops sighted Aiden as being the owner of the damaged vehicle, they were alarmed and roughly dragged out the owner of the offending truck.

However, they were all shocked when a female stepped out.

'Good day Miss...?,

One of the cop greeted and asked at the same time

Aiden's Pov

By this time, I was beyond annoyed. This was my favorite car because it was inherited from my late parents.

This time I spoke up

''These are the keys to the Lexus, all necessary agreements and decisions should be conducted with my lawyer and I want it repaired and delivered exactly twenty four hours from now and no i don't want a replacement' i said before leaving the scene.

I made a call through to one of my men who came through in minutes with another vehicle and off we drove.

'Home at last', I thought as i finally stepped into the house

I was immediately greeted by my house help in a rather unusual and extravagant way. However, I paid no attention to it but I got a shock as I entered my inner room.

'Happy birthday to you Ice King' was written on the walls

Wondering who it was who had the extra keys to my room I heard another loud noise and fireworks followed by a loud shout of happy birthday.

As I turned to stare, I saw all my employees stationed in different positions of the room all dressed up

Damn..how could I have forgotten that today was my birthday

'Anyway, it wasn't something too important' I thought as I shrugged my shoulders.

I thanked them all and made to rest after taking a shower

Sleep refused to come for a while. After some minutes I felt myself drifting off to sleep, a call came in. Allowing it to ring for a while, I finally picked it.

It was the voice of my lawyer

'Ice King'.he called out

'Go ahead'

'There's a problem here' he said again

'Speak' I almost shouted back now impatient

The driver of the truck has escaped' he finally said

'You better be kidding me, are the cops aware?' I asked

''They are'

'What is the name of the owner of the truck'? I asked again

'Mia Jakes' he replied back

''Okay, leave it I'll handle it myself' I said and hung up.
