Kade sat in his office, staring out at the sprawling fields of the French countryside, a glass of whiskey in his hand. The sun was just beginning to dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape. It was peaceful here, in the home he had built away from the chaos of Paris—a mansion by most people's standards, but nothing compared to the vineyard his grandparents had once owned.
