EXT. GUANGXI PROVINCE, CHINA - VALLEYS & MOUNTAINS - DAY (VFX TRANSITION)
The camera pans down from the jagged, misty limestone karst mountains of Guangxi. Over the last 1,000 years, the ancient mud village has vanished. In its place is a breathtaking, prosperous, and lush valley town.
Deep within a hidden bamboo forest on the mountain ridge sits the forgotten Acharya Courtyard Mansion. Outside the property, inside a sealed shrine, Lian is still there—but she has been frozen in time into a beautiful, moss-covered stone statue, having exhausted her divine powers to keep Moro suppressed for a millennium. The bronze machinery next to her is slowing down, creaking heavily.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
One thousand years passed. The world forgot the demon Moro, and the village grew into a prosperous paradise. But the bloodline of Lian’s most loyal palace servant survived through fifteen generations. Now, the last elder of that bloodline has passed away, leaving the ancient estate—and a forgotten cosmic duty—to her grandchildren.
INT. SMALL APARTMENT - HONG KONG - DAY
A cramped, chaotic high-rise apartment packed with moving boxes.
RITA (30s, looking exhausted but deeply resilient) is desperately sealing boxes with tape. She has deep dark circles under her eyes—the physical remnants of a painful divorce and years of emotional a***e from her toxic ex-husband.
Across the room, her 7-year-old twin children, LEO and LUNA, are giggling, playfully chasing each other around stacks of luggage.
LUNA
Mama, why isn't Daddy coming with us to the new house? Is he still working at the big office?
Rita freezes, holding the tape g*n. Her eyes well up with tears, but she forces a brave, warm smile for her kids, kneeling down to hug them.
RITA
Daddy has his own journey to take, sweethearts. But we are going on a grand adventure together. Just you, me, and Uncle Risky. A fresh start.
RISKY (30s, sharp, pragmatic) kicks the front door open, carrying a heavy box. He wears a compression sleeve over his right knee—a physical reminder of the explosion that ended his military career during a UN peacekeeping mission.
RISKY
Exactly! Plus, your Uncle Risky is in charge now. No more crying in this family. The cost of renting this tiny square box in Hong Kong is draining us dry anyway. Time to move to the mainland.
A sharp knock echoes at the door. Risky opens it to reveal a formal HONG KONG LAWYER in a sharp suit, holding estate deeds stamped with traditional wax seals.
LAWYER
Ms. Rita, Mr. Risky? I am here on behalf of your late grandmother’s estate. Before her passing in the mainland, she finalized her will. You two have officially inherited her ancestral property: The Acharya Mansion in the mountains of Guangxi.
The lawyer slides over the heavy, ancient property deeds. Rita and Risky look at each other in utter shock.
RISKY
(Squinting at the map)
Guangxi? Grandma lived in a high-rise in Kowloon! Since when did we own a giant mountain mansion in the middle of nowhere?
RITA
(Staring at the photo of the beautiful, sprawling courtyard)
It doesn't matter, Risky. Look at it. No noise, no crowded streets, no ghosts of my past. It’s exactly what the kids and I need to disappear and start over.
