“This is taking fore-e-ever,” Alexxia moaned, letting her elbows slide until her cheek landed on the console. “Why didn’t I bring a bottle? I’m sooo thirsty.”
“I don’t want to say I told you so.” Metsis glanced up from her book. “But I told you so.”
“What is there to do?”
Motioning to the visor screen, Metsis said, “We’re hurdling through space. Why not look at the monitor? It’s beautiful, don’t you think?”
Alexxia glanced at the stars racing past, gleaming like strings of silver light before promptly disappearing into nothingness. “Uck. Makes me queasy to think how fast we’re going.”
“At least you don’t feel it, like you did in the old modules.”
Batting her lashes, Alexxia said, “I’m not old enough to remember the old ones.”
