Chapter Five Alexxia dug through the trash, through the cabinets, through the overhead compartments. She searched every nook and cranny of the module for a bottle of blood some other interstellar traveller might have left on board. Nope. Nothing. Bone dry. Just as well, really. Even if she’d found a bottle, it would have gone off without refrigeration. Drinking bad blood would only make matters worse. She knew that from experience. “Where are you?” she asked the repairbot, as if it could hear her from whatever planet it was currently located. “Oh my stars, do I need a drink!” She checked the status of her service call.
