Chapter Twelve
Lounging on the silver beaches of Planet Plai, Alexxia gazed across the glistening expanse of purple ocean.
There was no horizon from this perspective. You could look out and see brilliant flecks of light the atmosphere casted off the water. Out into the ocean, those flecks were overtaken by a mauve mist, and suddenly you’d realize you were looking up at the sky. And you’d only realize you were looking at sky because stars were dancing above you. Dancing in pairs, like couples in love.
When Alexxia gazed across the beach, she couldn’t help focusing on exactly that: couples in love. There were plenty of single people, too, or groups of friends, or women like herself, paying for companionship, for amusement. But Alexxia was more interested in the couples.
