I already died.” I expand my fangs and smile. “Luckily, it turns out I was a pre-vamp after all.” Thalia glances worriedly at Eric, while Felix gapes at me. “Wow. Is that a magic trick?” He sounds appropriately awestruck. “If so, it’s your best one yet.” “No.” Eric examines me with a frown. “She’s missing her Mandate Aura, like all newly turned vampires do.” Oh yeah. That happened to Lucretia also. And—speaking of auras—now that I lack mine, I can’t see theirs anymore. I guess you need the Mandate aura in order to see one. “B
