Coincidence

826 Words
King Gareth's heart beat fast. This is impossible... He thought. The woman who he believed was his lost love, slowly raised her glance at him and the king took a step back. His only son, held the hand of the woman and ignoring his whining cousin, he introduced her with a big smile. - Father, please meet Adalinda, she is a guest of Alpha Hidalgo from the Winter Flower Pack. - Eirik added to avoid the conflict with Tase. Despite being the Prince, he was well aware of the crime of false claims and he still didn't figure out who Adalinda was to Tase. But Eirik found fascinating to see the eyes of the always cool blooded Alpha, getting darker as he held the lady's hand. She really is a rare beauty. I wonder if her beautiful face was the reason of my clumsiness on the dance floor. In the meantime Adalinda curtsy to the king and looked straight into his eyes with a sweet smile. King Gareth shivered as the eyes of his biggest mistake shined at him kindly. Adalinda was the spitting image of her mother Constance. Gareth felt weak for a moment when he saw her hair and face. Only if her eyes were emerald green... I'd fall in front of her feet. I'd promise her the world again without thinking of the consequences twice. - thought the king. But the eyes that stared back at him, were the ones that haunted King Gareth in the last twenty years. He had to shook his head to get himself together. - Nice to meet you, your Highness. - the girl said and even her voice sounded just like Constance's. - Nice to meet you too, you look like an old friend of mine. - he said and Adalinda smiled at him sweetly. She might be only similar to them. It was impossible that Constance and Ronan had an other child. - You had a friend like her? I've never heard about her, what was her name? - Eirik asked curiously, hoping that his father might knew Adalinda's parents, so his plan to get the girl from Hidalgo, would be easier. - Her name was Constance. - My mother's name was Constance. - Adalinda said straight into the king's eyes and the corner of her pretty lips which were smiling gracefully till now, twitched a bit into a slightly darker smile. Gareth's eyes widened a bit, but he managed to keep his cool. - Really? What a coincidence! - he said smiling since everyone were watching them by now. He motioned to the band to olay something and the crowd understood the assignment, dispersing onto the dance floor. Leaving Ada, Eirik and the King alone. Adalinda tilted her head adorably, but her eyes shined more vividly at the king when she said. - Coincidence takes a whole lot of planning. - Gareth mind-linked his son as he felt the air getting cooler around them. #- Get away from her now! - he said but Eirik just looked at him confused. He tried to mind-link his sone again for his terror, his inner voice didn't reach him. Both Eirik and Adalinda looked at him patiently. Suddenly Gareth grabbed Eirik's hand and pulled him away from her. - Dad! What are you doing? - Eirik growled slightly annoyed. Adalinda was such a sweetheart and she was so simple. Eirik was sure that he had her already around his fingers. - Excuse us Adalinda, we have some Royal business to take care of. - Adalinda bowed a bit and Gareth left dragging his son with him. Adalinda walked to Tase who was watching the whole scene and she wrapped her arm around his, pulling him on the dance floor. Tase didn't ask anything, nor said anything regarding what just happened, but at that moment, he also started to become suspicious about Adalinda's background. She'll tell me when she feels ready. - he said to Titan, but more than that, he reassured himself. Gareth pulled Eirik to his office and shut the door behind them. He poured a glass of hard liquor and sent it down quickly. - Dad! What's wrong with you? - Eirik asked but not for concern. The old rag acted strangely, he didn't want him to die before he names him officially the heir. Unfortunately, the king could name anyone as the King of werewolves if he thought that, that person is more suitable for the throne than his own offsprings. - Never go near that girl ever again. - Gareth said and Eirik scoffed. - She is cute and simple and smells fantastic, by the way, the Winter Flower Alpha seems very fond of her and I want to hurt him. It's a win-win father! - Gareth growled at his stupid son. Eirik understood the message and left him alone. Gareth sat in his armchair and closed his eyes remembering of his dear Constance.
