CHAPTER 12

I must say waking up in the bedroom of a man I haven't known long enough was not ideal. No matter what type of romantic feelings there were brewing between us. I know the only reason I'm here is because I had passed out and he had taken pity on me. The big bad werewolf feels sorry for the puny human. I hear a knock on the door before Rex enters with a tray with a sandwich and a glass of juice in hand. "How are you feeling?" she asks me with a worried look on her face. "I'm okay, I guess. Sorry for being such a drama queen and passing out in your arms." I apologized as I blushed from embarrassment. "Oh don't worry about that. What happened?" she asks gently, unsure if I'll start crying again. "Well, I know everything now, about your brother, and that he's a whore." I said with a hint of bitterness "Sorry, that must not be nice to hear." I apologize but Rex quickly cuts me off "No No I agree with you." she reassured me "My brother has been very promiscuous in the past. I just didn't think that it would continue. I mean, with that wanna be Luna of all she-wolves?" Rex said fuming. "About the wolf thing, so what's the deal with all this pack stuff?" I asked Rex , I truly was curious about this and how all of this had gone under the radar without anyone noticing.

"Well, werewolves have existed since the beginning of time alongside humans. The reason why no one has ever heard about our existence is simple. In ancient times, humans were at war with werewolves. They were greedy, power-hungry creatures. They wanted nothing but to control us for power over their enemies. So our ancestors had come up with the plan to make humans believe we had gone extinct. We could have fought that war and have the whole world know of our existence, but we don't live by the same rules as humans. We have our own laws, our own hierarchy, and our own enemies as well." Rex explains "Tell me about the way your world works." I ask "Werewolves are very dominant creatures, we have an Alpha and Luna, who are the leaders of a pack. We also have a second and third in Command. There is a council for each pack that assists the Alpha and Luna in decision making. However, they are not above the Alpha couple. The only one above the Alphas is the Lycan King, who is meant to keep the peace between packs. Now onto mates. Every werewolf has a predestined soulmate. It isn't common that their mate will be human though. So, after you are marked you will go through the change." She explains. This is all a lot to take in. "Are you saying that I would become a werewolf?" I asked nervously. Rex slowly nods her head. "Rex, this is a lot to take in. This is all going so fast I feel like I haven't even gotten a chance to take in the fact that werewolves exist." I say as calmly as I can, hoping that Rex will understand my concern. Luckily she doesn't look upset with me as she is smiling. "Thats okay Elly, it is totally up to you if you want to take everything slow. It's a conversation that you will have with Nash, I'm sure he will understand," she says with a warm smile on her face. How did I get so lucky to find someone with a sweet soul like her? "Where is Nash by the way?" I was curious as to where he had been while I had my little beauty sleep. "He's waiting patiently for you to come downstairs." she says and points to the sandwich that had been waiting for me. We sat and had more discussions about the werewolf world while I ate and commented inbetween bites. I found out that Nash was some bigshot Alpha and that I would be this pack's new Luna. We went over all the ceremonies I would have to go through once I was marked and mated to Nash. It all honestly doesn't sound too bad, the thought of having a soulmate that was devoted to me was a calming thought. There were tons of things that Nash and I would have to work through, trust being one of them. Aside from all the drama, the thought of having him for the rest of my life made my heart sing with joy. There was the issue of him sleeping with another woman and he would have to earn my trust back. This wasn't going to be an easy task for him, I wanted him to court me the way humans do, no rushing into things.
