He looked exactly like Harris, but instead of Hazel eyes, he had green eyes and silvery white hair which he braided all the way to the back. It fell over his shoulders in the most tender way. He had a much more slender face, and his scent, reminded her of the cherries she would usually pick with her mom, back home. He was as beautiful as Harris was.
But all of those differences, did not stop her from mistaking him for Harris. "Harris" she said, surprised that once again he had saved her. She felt her head swell up.
Once more, the animal in her was awakened. "Mate. Mine." She felt the chords within herself struck one last time. The man she was looking at found himself, affected too, but he rejected it, letting her fall off his arms to the floor.
"What do you think you are doing, trying to mate bond with me, and why do you know my brother's name?" Levi reached out to his side and drew a sword out of his sheath, and pointed it at her. "For the last time, who are you?"
"I... I am." She stuttered, further annoying Levi. "I am with Harris."
"Liar! My brother does not mingle with the maidens. What were you doing, climbing down from his room?"
"It is exactly what I just said. I am with Harris."
"You continue telling lies. You cannot tell me that you know me more than I know my brother. You cannot tell me any of that. My brother will never hang around the likes of you. You thief. Confess and I shall have mercy on you, or I am just going to throw you into the dungeon."
"But I am telling the truth. You really have to believe me. "
"I am counting from one to three, and if you don't confess who you are till then, then you only have yourself to blame."
"But I am not lying.'
"One." Levi began the count down.
"What do you need me to say?"
"Two."
"Why don't you believe me?"
"Three. Now your punishment begins."
"She is saying the truth" a voice came interrupting them. It was the voice of Harris.
Levi turned to look at him, as he stepped out from the corner where he was, and strolled towards the girl on the floor. Levi's eyes focused on Harris' body movement to figure out if he was saying the truth or just lying. He could tell when his step brother was lying. So far he could not see anything that pointed to the idea that he was lying.
"How? When did this happen? Who is she?" Levi asked.
Harris picked Bella up from the floor, lifting her up with a hand. "Today. I saw her bleeding by the water side and helped her. As for her name..." He realized that she had not told him her name or who she was."
"My name is Bella" Bella introduced herself finally.
"And this time you finally tell me your name" said Harris.
Levi was surprised and could not believe his ears as well as he could not believe his eyes. "So you mean you took a stranger into the castle? How could you be so naive, Harris? What if she is a spy, what on earth are we going to do about it? I caught her climbing down your room, Harris. Do you know what sort of information she might have with her? Do you even know what that means? I am very disappointed in you, brother."
"I know. I am sorry. But we mate bonded," Harris finally dropped the bomb.
"You what?" Levi reacted, knowing that Harris had earlier today told him that he had not had a mate bond. "So you lied to me today, why?"
"It's complicated, but please can you not tell mother?" Levi spoke in the most quiet and solemn tone he could muster.
"Why should I not tell mother about this? As the Alpha I demand to know."
"I will tell you about it, but please, just keep it away from the ears of mother. Please promise me first."
Levi grew a pondering look, and stared at Harris as though inspecting his every move. "Okay, I will not tell mother about it" he said, reluctantly.
"And what will you not tell mother about?" A feminine voice spoke out, bold and daring. A woman adorned in an all white dress came foreward.
"Mother." One could hear Harris voice shaking."
"Mother, how long have you been here?" Levi asked.
"Long enough to know that Harris mate bonded with a stranger from some other land." She casted a glare at Harris, making him look away.
Bella had her eyes on the woman all through the conversation, but she nevertheless did not care at all to look at the face of Bella. 'Mother' as they called her, acted as though Bella did not exist.
"Harris, I need to speak to you in private, come with me now" the woman ordered, her tone was condescending in every way.
Mother took Harris to her study, where she let him stand by her desk, as she played the piano.
"Harris, I wish to tell you a story that you must know all too well. But I wish to tell you again. I hope you do not mind in anyway."
"I don't" Harris said.
"Okay, pleased to hear that from you." She kept on playing the piano as she spoke. "Once upon a time, just one year after I married Levi's father, Henry Whitemane, the former Alpha, had an affair your mother, and gave birth to you. And then you were born, a year before my son, Levi. Even though I was the original Luna. Well as the story goes, she got banished, but you were kept. Do you know what you are to do?"
"Yes," Harris responded. "I am not to get a mate bond before my brother, Levi. Before ever I would do that, he must get a mate bond, have a Luna, and get an heir. This is the only way I can atone for the sins of my mother."
"Good boy, now you know what to do. Run along."
