CHAPTER 2

1057 Words
"It's simple. My dad died last week and he wrote me an address before his death. He said if I ever felt homesick or if I ever had a problem I should visit this place", April explained leaving all the necessary details out. To be frank, it was way more than that but she couldn't tell him now, she thought pausing her lips as her mind wandered off to the truth of the matter. Houston's gaze fell to her lips again and he cursed shifting away from her. " I know I should have sat down opposite her", he murmured to himself as his hands clenched into a fist. His eyes traveled to her paused lips again and he wondered if she was aware of what she was doing to him. He really wondered how she had that kind of effect on him. No one in his whole life had made him feel this way. He even taught that perhaps he was furcking crazy..... Or her. He cursed trying to put himself together as he created more distance between them. "So you have always known granny Steph", he asked. His voice came out a bit more husky than usual but April didn't notice. She smiled, her dimples surfacing, " as I've told you, your family and mine were family friends. We have unfortunately just never met. All The time we traveled down to New Orleans you always happened to be out", she explained and he just cursed barely able to focus with her lips spread like that. "I've got to get out of here", he murmured under his breath. A dog suddenly jumped on the chair they were both sited on and April screamed throwing herself on Houston in fright and he stiffened. April was now on his lap, her eyes shut in fear and Houston remained silent. His insides almost crippling from their close proximity. When April finally opened her eyes, she sighed seeing that it was just a puppy. Her lips soon curved in a smile as she watched it jump off their chair to something else. She turned to him, preparing to apologize, " it's a cute little thing", she muttered first, her lips still in a smile, and Houston shifted getting a hard-on. "Damn... Not the dimples again", he muttered under his breath. " I'm sorry for", she paused her lips looking at their current position. Her knees were at either side of his body and her body weight settled on him. Her hands held onto his clothes at his chest and another button of her shirt loosed, making her breast more visible. "Please, stop-", Houston's voice came out almost like a cry and she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. " was he talking about their current position?", she wondered. She attempted to get up but Houston wrapped his hands on her lower back pushing her closer to him. Now, her breast was touching his chest and she paused her lips, gazing at him in confusion. His eyes fell to her lips, and he stopped a moan from escaping his mouth. He ran his hands to her chin, tracing it down to her neckline and April stayed in position probably in shock. His hands then moved to her waist drawing her closer to him, his lips made some kisses on her neck before whispering into her ears, "I hate you", he mustered. Immediately lifting her off himself and walking off. *** Those three words he said, have surprisingly done a lot of negative to her as she sat in shock on the sitting room's couch, watching him trail away from her. " why was he so cold?", she wondered as tears battled to form on her face but she held it in. She couldn't be weak now, she came to New Orleans to have a better life for herself and him, even if he didn't appreciate it. She has never for once had a normal life due to the type of parents destiny granted her. Having crazy scientists as parents wasn't an easy task to deal with. First, they were always so unrealistic as they wanted her to do everything robotically. Was it so hard to understand that she wasn't perfect? Apparently, for them it was. Also, they didn't allow her to make friends during all her high school as they never trusted anyone. This has always been the worst part of the matter to her. She was left to sit alone in the cafeteria, go around alone to places, talk to herself when she was bored, and worst of all, she later had to go to prom all by herself. Their rules made life hard for her. The only hope of having any friends was the Anderson family. She was so happy the first day they traveled down to New Orleans. She talked to granny Steph all day. Telling her about the most ridiculous things. She was even more delighted to know that they had a son. She always longed to see him and talk to him but he was never around when she came. She has met his parent's couple of times and they were the best. She felt loved around them even better than when she was around her own birth parents. All they cared about were their AI machines. In her heart, even though she has never met Houston. He was already her first friend and only one. Probably that was why it hurt so much, to hear him say those very words, she thought as she tried her best to keep the tears that wanted to fall loosely on her cheek away. Life has not really been the best for her since her parent's sudden death. At first, it was her mum and just when she was already getting over her departure. Her dad died too. She loathed them very much. She hated them for leaving her all alone in this world. She disliked them for everything they put her through, but yet, here she was doing her father's last wish on his death bed. She couldn't back out now, even if Houston hurt her a thousand times. She had already promised her dad to take care of the problem he created during his short lifetime. She already assured him that she was going to right his wrongs.
