CHAPTER 4

April was finding it difficult to breathe as his rock body was pressing too much into hers.

"Please... Move a li..little...bit", she managed to utter and Houston's eyes widened noticing his mistake.

When he moved away, she breathe a sigh of relief and his eyes met hers In worry

" sorry", he muttered and April rolled her eyes

"So much for not getting granny and I worried", she said and he paused, gazing at her with an unreadable expression.

" so you were worried about me?", he asked

"Of cause!", she almost screamed and he immediately covered her mouth preventing the feet outside from hearing them.

" why would you do exactly what I asked you not to do? Do you know how worried I was when I saw a bunch of scary people chasing you? What if I didn't man up and come down here to check on you? Something just kept telling me that you wouldn't keep your promise", she said in one breath as the taught of her losing her first friend felt even scarier than anything to her.

Houston smiled tucking her hair behind her ears. He was very surprised to see her as worried as this over him. He really didn't have many people who worried about him. Damn, his own friend was watching the scene that happened right now and didn't even attempt to save him, he thought.

"I won't ever make you worried again", he said smiling at her and she smiled back at him feeling very satisfied.

After all the footsteps have vanished. She held him and assisted him to get out of there. She walked him up to her car and drove off.

She wanted to drive him to a hospital but he said she shouldn't. He promised that he knew how to handle his s**t and he would be okay.

After much argument, April later drove him to the house. She carried him into his room and helped him to sit on his bed.

He used a knife to cut his wounds open so he could get the bullet out and April stared in horror.

After about 2minutes she helped him to clean up his wounds and laid him down on the bed. She sat close to him staring at his current state.

" don't worry. I'll be okay by tomorrow", he uttered seeing the look on her face and she smiled even though she knew he really couldn't be alright by tomorrow.

"Why do you keep going to that scary place, if you will only end up like this", April asked and Houston sighed.

" There are some things you would never understand", he uttered finally and April frowned moving closer to him and he blinked feeling his senses freezing from their close proximity.

3steps away, he wanted to say but he was too weak to muster anything

She held unto his hands and he stiffened getting a hard-on

"Stop going to that scary place", she said again as she entwined their hands and he felt his insides trembling.

" I can't- I have a reason why I go there", he managed to say though his words came out like a whisper.

She gasped in surprise as she rose her head over him, her eyebrows arched looking at his expression, "you are not lying, then tell me what could that be?", she uttered in curiosity as her lip paused in deep thought.

Houston's eyes fell over to her lips, his body having a total breakdown from their closeness. Her heads were raised over him, looking into his face for more information and he cursed.

He could feel himself get horny from just the thought of how close they were right now. He could feel his other hand begin to shake and he formed it into a fist, cursing under his breath.

"you don't want to tell me?", she asked a sad expression taking her face and he sighed again. Knowing the only way to get himself out of his current situation was to give her the answers she wanted, then she could get out of his room sooner since he was too weak to fight all the feelings exploding inside him.

"I'm trying to find the guy that killed my parents. Some guys from that place, help me with it since they have the necessary tools", he replied and April's smile faded.

" of cause, she knew she would have to deal with this sooner or later. She was going to have to deal with the fact that, it was her father who killed his parents", she thought as she gradually pulled away from him and Houston just stared at her quietly.

"Get some rest. We have something important to discuss tomorrow", she said as she moved out of his room. She passed him a small smile before closing the door behind her.
