CHAPTER FOUR
HIS FRUSTRATIONS AT THE BORDER.
After the search and questioning at the police station, the two young men took him to their home since could express himself in french. Though he was scared but he went with them because he had no option. He was shown a small corner of the house where he laid his mat and slept. He decided not to sleep that night because he didn't know their plan so he could not tell what can happen. Though he decided to stay awake but because he was so exhausted he fell into a deep sleep and had a good night rest. As he got up the next day, a thought crossed his mind "What if this people discover that you are a Christian?". They can decide to harm you or ask you to become a Moslem, like the pastor said. He quickly took the two small new testament bibles he had with him and went and threw them in the dustbin for fear of persecution. This is tantamount to denying Jesus like the biblical Peter.. The two young men helped and took him to where he could get a vehicle that will take him to a the border town of Sudan. The drivers all speaking Arabic requested for his passport and discovered that he doesn't have a visa to Sudan. Princewill even tried to convince them that he will to get the visa at the point of entry but they refused. So none of them accepted him as a passenger after all the plea but they rather advised him to go back to Ndjamena, the nations capital and get a visa. "How can he go back after this long journey that is full of stress". he thought. He tried to consider the expenses of moving to and fro as well as the energy and waste of time involved in securing a visa. But there was nothing he could do so he finally decided to move back to Ndjamena - Chad, after all, they say "Disappointment is a blessing in disguise". He quickly remembered that there's was war in Sudan as the pastor in Chad and others had informed him. What if he goes now and he is caught in between the war or a bullet locates him in between the war? This thought made him to relax rather than being angry. So he now begins the journey to Djamena as he boarded another lorry full of goods and passengers. While in the lorry, he felt as if he should talk to someone but lacked the communication abilities in Arabic. At least he could speak french but these individuals were stark illiterates who could hardly understand french apart from arabic and their local languages. Secondly he he feared that they might take advantage of him as a foreigner, and this might lead to some betrayal since he doesn't even has their intonation. So in order not to betray himself, he decided to stay mute till the end of the journey to Djamena. The only thing he did was to come out of the lorry and buy some bread , water or mineral for himself each time it stopped somewhere for passengers to refresh themselves.
On arrival at Djamena, he thought either to return to the Full gospel church, where he lived before or to look for another location. "If I go back to the pastors house, I don't know how everyone will take me for and I will be the talk of the church,. After all it is not my father's house so let me look for another way of helping my self even though it may be hard but I prefer it that way."
