Chapter 2 ( The Mountain )

Beautiful Scenery.. Is there really a place like this in Earth?

I'm walking around and watching the blue skies the surroundings. Is full of trees, especially a wide field, and at the end of that wide field is a high mountain. Our house is so near on this Forest beside is the famous Bighorn Mountains.

I looked so amazed as continued walking until I remembered something. The man at the airport I'm not able to say thank you for standing up for me unlike other people there who have just watched me degraded by that security guard. I know they are just doing their work..

But what he did was too personal and harsh.

“You like it here?” I heard my grandma who’s coming over and smiling brightly at me. Well, I rarely see her via video call and sometimes she visits us in Florida. I smiled back at her “Thanks Grandma for making us come here for this vacation”, I said and look at her.

“This is your place so you don’t need to thank me only your mom not really like to always come here” she said, aside from her age which is 80 years old but to be honest she looks so young than her age. My grandma is really beautiful too.. So now I doubt.

“Nana am I really your blood?” i suddenly asked and she started to laugh again.

“Of course your my blood why are you doubting it again? Did you watch too much drama lately?” she asked I shook my head and continued to fiddle my fingers.”Its just like I don’t see any resemblance of myself on you Nana and Mommy” I answered and tried to light up my mood.

“Look Ariah I know your confused about your appearance but try to feel us? Try it and close your eyes” Nana said so I follow what she said and closed my eyes all I can hear is the wind flowing in my face it felt wonderful and so breezy I felt at home..

“Ariah I know you have lots of questions on that head but one at a time you will know everything,” She said I felt her presence go away and then I opened my eyes and still on a daze because of how beautiful this place is.

I just wanted to stay here forever and never go back on our house at Florida. I feel at home here and I feel that here is where I belong. The nature the wind and the grass I love to just stand here on this middle field and I feel I'm floating every time I close my eyes.

After a whole day spending my time there at the field, I decided to go back at house I already felt so hungry since I forgot to bring some snacks there. Maybe tomorrow I will go back and spend my whole day there again but this time ill bring all my needs so yeah.

“Ariah tomorrow you will coming with your cousin to the location of Shoshone Tribe to bring some necessities for them I look at my mom who’s eating her dinner.

“Shoshone tribe? Cousin?” I asked she nod and look at me “Yes you will need to visit the Shoshone Tribe to pay respects. They are one of your dad's elderly and when your dad still alive he always coming

There to help and assist those people here and they know your dad very well” Mom said so I smiled and nod she really know how to pique my interest. For sure the place is also in the forest, so I will go.

After dinner, I just prepare myself and pack some stuff since its like 5 hours away from here we will take a van. And I also so curious to meet this cousin they saying. I feel so excited so suddenly.

I just set my alarm and go to sleep I don’t wanna be sleepy there tomorrow.

M O R N I N G

“Mom are you not coming?” I asked she just sitting there at the garden sipping her tea with her meticulous aura she was like a Queen wearing her purple nightgown silk robe and her pair of sun glasses. I looked around there is no sun rays so I just rolled my eyes and picked up my bag.

“I need beauty rest and you know me Ariah im not into hiking”she said then my ears suddenly throbbed when I heard going there will involve hiking?

I love Hiking.

That’s why my mom also proved that me and my dad have the same attitude and likes. I'm glad to hear that at least even dad is not around my mom still felt that dad's presence still lingering around her. Again all I want is my mom to be happy. That’s it.

“Hey aunt!” we heard a loud baritone voice coming from the back and a young guy appeared with his shirtless body and only wearing some Corduroy Pants. Jesus! What the hell why his body is so menacing?

Like its shouting for power I have never seen this kind of body in person of course.

“Hello, Jarek it's been a long time”. It's my mom who opens her arms for this guy. Im so confused looking at them. They didn’t notice my stare and just continued having their mini-reunion and disregarding my presence.

“Anyway Jarek! This is my daughter Ariah you remember her when she so small” This Jarek in front of me look at me in disbelief and stared at me what’s wrong with this guy? I know my face is ugly but he doesn’t need to show it by expressing it on his face.

“Wow aunt I can’t believe that you really managed to hide it” Jarek said and laughed then look at my mom.

My mom's face expression look so proud of something, like she accomplished something.

“Well she needed to be hidden,” my mom said and laugh I rolled my eyes she really wanna hide me because I'm ugly. Tsk I knew it she’s really not proud of me because of my appearance its just for a show then. I don’t know why I feel so disappointed.

“Darling Ariah don’t misunderstand I love you whatever your appearance is”she said and kiss my forehead. Now she's becoming sweet after they make fun on me.

“Don’t misunderstand me too Ariah”Jarek said and smile at me too.

“Both of you are weird” I said and turn my back to them I go to my room to get my necklace and wear it. Well, this necklace is so important for me this is the only stuff my dad left for me as my mom said.

“Ariah you will be leaving na with your cousin. Be careful going there okay! If you need something, ask your cousin Jarek he will protect you and provide what you need”mom said. I about to hiss at her when suddenly I looked at her face and she look so worried.

“Mom what’s with that face?”i said and raise my eyebrow she chuckled and changed her reaction and speak again. “What’s on my face? It's beauty” she said and start to laugh. I rolled my eyes again. Sometimes my mom is really so so weird.

I just follow her and just disregard what happened since sometimes she’s really weird.

“Ready to go?” This cousin of mine asks me as if he didn’t do something earlier. I just look at him and pass by on him and continue walking to the van that we gonna take I still hear them whispering to each other. “Jarek please take care of my Ariah she sometime have attitude bt please stay with her at any cost” my mom said I knew she’s becoming weird again so I just continued walking and get inside the van.

Minutes later Jarek also go inside the van and sit beside me I just wear my hoodie and put the sleeping eye mask and leaned back Im just gonna close my eyes for a while because I feel so sleepy I did drink the coffee but I don’t know why suddenly im so sleepy.

“Ariah ill wake you up when we arrive” That's the last word I heard until I dozed off…

I woke up when I felt someone was shaking me..

I slowly removed my eye mask and saw Jarek in front of me.

“We're here,” he said so I stood up quickly and bumped my head on the van roof. Its hurts such a dumb ass Ariah! I said to myself.

“Come get out and I will introduce you to them” he said and smile I just follow him and get out of that van and pick up my bag when I got out I didn’t realize my surroundings and just continued to stoop while walking. I heard those people around start to whisper on each other.

“Ariah raise your head”Jarek said but I didn’t listen and just continued walking I don’t care I don’t wanna be rude but I couldn't stand this kind of crowd I already escaped my school but I felt like there’s a lot of eyes on me again.

“Jarek! Welcome back”I heard a guy shout and this Jarek stopped walking and talked to that man.

I remain looking at the ground and try to not think on their possible expression while looking at me.

“Is she Ariah? The daughter of Goddess Thalia?”the guy said I slowly raised my head and looked at this man in front of me he mentioned my mom's name with the word Goddess. You gotta be kidding me.

“Yes she is Ariah”my cousin said I look at him smiling and then I realized my surroundings..

What the hell is this place????
