When It Rains It Pours

Sloane's P.O.V Multiple expressions took their turn on Jay's face. His whole body tensed up and he just froze, staring at whatever was behind me. I took a sip from my champagne, but before I could turn around to see what or who he's looking at, someone else got my attention. Jay's mother just arrived. She was walking straight towards us, her face content, but the vibe all around us was just so loud in my head, I could feel the air vibrating. "Your mom's here.." I say without breaking eye contact with his mother. Before he took my hand and turned to take a look, I saw his face. That look on his face made me turn as well. We were standing back to back now, I was looking, but I couldn't see anything or anyone that I know. There were a variety of fancy people and really casual people. They were all mingling and mixed, in the garden, on the grass, the pathway, under the trees it was such a great mix of colors shaded by twilight. When I turned back around, his mother was standing right in front of us. She only looked at Jay, not at me. She only talked to him as well. In her body language she was screaming, 'You're not really here!! You don't belong with my son!!!'. Yeah sure, maybe it's all in my head, but I couldn't just ignore that something didn't feel right. "Honey, your sister and I just want to have a chat with you real quick. It won't take long, she's on video call." This was all too real fu**ing awkward. "I'm going to go... to, the.. There." What the fu** was that..? "Angel," Jay started, "It's fine." I said and kissed him on the cheek when he wrapped his arms around me, closing his eyes, he kisses me so deeply and so passionately. He held me so close I thought I could feel his heart beat against mine. He wasn't letting me go. I finally put my hands against his chest in a sort of pushing motion, allowing me to gently pull away from the kiss. "Go talk to your sister, I'll be right here waiting for you." He put his forehead against mine and closed his eyes, I just continued to look down. "I love you." he whispered. I took his face in my hands and brought it down for a kiss on his forehead. I love the way he smells. "I love you too, babe." We smiled at each other and he went back inside the house. I don't like being so close to him in the same place, but not with him. Everything else seemed of no interest. I finished my glass of champagne when I decided to try and find the man with the silver tray. I might as well enjoy the beverages while it lasts. I ran into Aunt Tilly and Aunt Lotty on the way, they were Jay's dad's sisters. They're such lovely people and always so kind. 'Ah, the new edition to the family' they would greet me. That's what Jay said when he introduced me to them. Such a great laugh. I spotted the silver tray of champagne sticking out in the crowd and walked over. The waiter literally glided through the crowd as the tray became lighter. Finally he came my way. "Please look out for me every time you do another round, I need a lot of glasses to get through tonight." I confessed to him out of no where. "Funny, you're not the first person to say that tonight. But you're the first formal guest to say that, though. I think this event is too stiff for the laid back people here tonight." he started babbling, but his point of view was rather predictable. "You want to know the irony of it all? The laid back people are the ones closest to the guest of honor." he just smirked at that. "Ironic, yeah. Whoop, there's another one demanding my goods. I'm running out pretty fast, so I'll be bringing the next round soon. Drink up!" he said before disappearing into the crowd. "Can I have a turn to talk to you now?" a voice behind me said. I turned around to see a tall, built, blonde man with piercing green eyes. I tilted my head a little, my gut was already questioning this man's intentions. "Why? Is there something you would like to say?" I asked. "Only that, you're the best surprise at this party." he said. Cocky are we? "Sorry not sorry to disappoint, but I am not a prize." I answered, clearly uninterested. Where is Jay, why is he taking so long? I took out my phone to check for any new messages, maybe something from him. All I got were a few messages from Kai. I'll read them later. Maybe. I saw the time in the corner of my screen, dammit, it's been an hour already since he went into the house. I'm going to sneak out the garden's back gate to have a cigarette. It'll go nicely with the champers and good for the stress, I guess. It's something to do anyway. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you by saying that." This guy's still here? "None taken. I'm going to take a walk." I said and started to move in the direction of the gate. "Sure, I'll come with you." I heard him say behind me. I mean I thought I did. I couldn't hear much as we were nearby the dance floor close to the speaker where the music was coming from, but I didn't bother to look back to see if he was behind me, I just moved through the crowd. I got to the white wooden gate at the far side of the garden in the corner, it was right next to where the valet's parked all the cars. And some cars they are! Wow. I decided to smoke by the red Ferrari. A timeless cliche. I lit my cigarette and inhaled the nicotine. It wasn't to long when I heard heard footsteps coming my way, the grey grains of sand crunching beneath the soles of there shoes.. "You're too fast for me." I heard the voice from a few minutes ago say on the other side of the car. "I wasn't sure if I heard correctly, the music was so loud, I didn't suspect you would actually coming along." I covered. I thought my body language made it clear that I didn't want to be bothered, or followed, or accompanied whatsoever. "Now why would I let a beautiful woman like yourself escape my sight and let you go off alone in the dark. Something might happen to you when no one's around.." his tone of voice started to change, and so did the atmosphere between us. With his hands in his pockets, he started walking lazily around the Ferrari to where I was standing. This was starting to feel really uncomfortable, I will mess this guy up for real, if he tries anything with me. "I'm fine. It's a safe and fancy neighborhood with lots of security around, I'm just having a quick smoke and I'll be back before anyone notices the only woman wearing red is gone." I said in a kind of defensive voice. "Maybe. Eventually. But for right now, we're alone with no one else around that can hear us. What do you say we use it to our advantage." he didn't stop moving until he had me trapped between him and the fire red ride, leaning against it with his arms on either side of me. I became numb, it's like I'm being caged and the cage was becoming smaller and smaller as if it's going to crush me anytime. His intentions were very clear at this point. "Yeah, no thanks. I have a boyfriend and he's here tonight so he'll come get me soon. I told him I was coming here for a smoke before I left him to get some more champagne, before coming out here." I lied, trying to intimidate him a little. "I don't think so, darling. See, I've been watching you for the last hour, and you haven't spoken to any man other than that waiter. The waiter is gay so he can't be your boyfriend, and there's no one else." He had me pressed up against the car now, grinding against me roughly. When I tried to push him away he backed up a little and spun me around, slamming my head against the car's top. He then grabbbed my wrists and painfully tied them together behind my back. What is this maniac going to do to me? "Don't worry sweetheart, no one will hear you, you may scream as loud as you can. Hell, I'm gonna make you scream as loud as I want when I rip your p***y apart. You walked away so quickly, I'm assuming you like it fast and rough." This can't be happening right now. "Are you serious? You're going to fu**ing r**e me??!!!! What the fu**, man!!?" he lifted my dress all the way up to my waist and spread my legs apart with his. I tried to close them and wiggle out of his grasp with as much force as I could. But his weight was heavily pressed up against me, it felt like I was being crushed from both sides. I was starting to have difficulty breathing when he suddenly shoved his fingers inside me. "Nice and tight, just the way I like it.." I've seen this happen in the movies, I never saw myself as a victim until now. He was going to have to kill me before he gets what he wants, I'm not backing down. I threw my head back without hesitation and as hard as I could, finally he stumbled backwards and I was free from him and the car. I pulled my dress back down and started running towards the little garden gate. "You b**ch!! You broke my fu**ing nose!" Blinded by my tears, I stumbled over my own two feet and hit the ground. I couldn't wait to feel where the pain was coming from, my adrenaline forced me back up. I didn't know if he was still behind me. I got to the gate and after opening it I glanced back real quick, I was about to start running again, but I bumped into something. I nearly fell backwards before Jay pulled me against him and I was in his arms. He held me really tight while I was sobbing, my head against his chest and my tears on his shirt. He let go of his warm embrace and took my face in his hands. "Angel, what happened? Where were y..." he stopped mid sentence. "Who did this to you." was more of a statement rather than a question. "I want to go home." I said between sobs. "Tell me who did this to you!" he yelled, which made me sob even louder. "I don't know..he...I don..." I couldn't find my words, I was in shock. Just then Jay's eyes told me that he was seeing something, or rather someone, behind me. "Hey, cuz.." I recognized his voice without having to turn and see, my body tensed up and Jay felt it, because his grip on me tightened. I looked up at Jay, fresh tears streaming down my face. I could see the rage in his eyes and the way his jaw clenched. Did he just say cuz? As in, cousin..?
