A man soaked in blood appeared at doorstep, his translucent red katana’s sharp edge at Arronn’s neck, his eyes ablaze with scarlet as he gripped his weapon with knuckles turning white.
He had Arronn at a choke hold, but we were all calm. Besides, Arronn has powers. His bloodied footsteps leaving a trail on the wooden floor of the house as he shut the door quietly.
Mike and I sighed and shut our eyes to awaken our Dogma.
“Don’t you dare.” He hissed with an evident threatening tone.
CRACKLE!
We immediately opened our eyes without our powers, eyes widening from the katana with red flames lining the sword.
“Use your powers and I’ll make sure his blood floods this house!”
“Okay. Okay. Okay.” Mike responded, raising his hands in defense, his eyebrows raised.
I mimicked his actions, with eyes fixed on Arronn’s trembling body as his chest thumped rapidly and sweat started to fall from his face.
“Now, you two little shits,” he pointed the fiery katana at two of us, “are coming with me.” He leaned the sword near to Arronn’s neck. I gazed at Mike who never left his gaze at the man, then he smiled.
“Okay,” he chimed without a fear in his voice as he shrugged his shoulders, “come on C, let’s go.”
I stared at with an are-you-out-your-mind look. He chuckled at the man and went closer to him. “Come on let’s go.”
“Huh,” the man’s eyes furrowed as he lowered the sword and its flames dying down, “well, that was easy.”
He pushed Arronn aside and he tumbled to the floor. I tried to rush to his side.
“Don’t come near him!” The man thundered.
“Come on C, let’s go.” Mike motioned his head for me to come along.
This guy has a plan, I know of it.
I trod the wooden floors to Mike’s side, the man fished a pair of handcuffs and from his pocket and shackling our hands in its cold, metallic clasp. He raised two fingers to his ears and a wide grin flashed on his face.
“I got them Madam.” He chirped all excited-like. Which Mike does as well.
Yep, he does have something
The man nodded and smiled, once he brought down his fingers, it contorted into a scowl. “Let’s go you little shits.”
He reached for the door handle.
BAM!
The door slammed open, a cracking noise emitting from his face as blood splattered to the ground. Before he can even react.
THWAM!
Alex elbowed the man and forced him deeper into the house. He gripped his nose with his eyes closed.
Oh no.
“ALEX, WATCH OUT!” I screamed.
The man’s eyes burned red, a katana appeared from his hand, flames much more vicious as he slashed in front of him.
Thwang!
Only for a blue force field to bounce his katana back.
“You’re not doing that again.” A voice from behind hissed. Arronn glared at the man with his hand outstretched and his eyes a radiant blue.
The man stared blankly at Alex still covered in Arronn’s protection, his katana hanging lowly. “The Corporation doesn’t say I have to bring you two alive…”
The flames ten times as more violent as he wound up his sword, and swung it with intense force. “DIE YOU LITTLE SHITS!”
An inch away from my face was a flaming crescent, suddenly, everything turned green. I turned beside me to see Mike’s eyes a vibrant green. He breathes a sigh of relief.
“Just in time.”
“Did you actually plan that?”
“I caught a glimpse of the future, Alex stormed in and this happened.”
“Cool.”
“Now then, shall we?” He stretches out his palm and flashed a suggestive look on his face.
I closed my eyes, and opened once again, a electricity-like, red orb appeared on my hands and I crushed it, morphing into a metallic bat. I let the bat scrape on the floor as Mike and I strolled to the man’s side.
“This is for me!”
CLANG!
“And this is for my friends!”
CLANG!
“My turn.” Mike stretches his neck, then his knuckles as he grinned. He battered the man in a flurry of punches and kicks, his final move a spinning kick.
The green filter dissipated and the man catapulted to the wall, plopping down the floor with shoulders slumped. Mike and I inspected him, checking his pulse, slow but steady.
“Call my mom, her contacts could benefit from this.” I instructed Mike, to which he nodded in reply.
“Alex!” Arronn rushed to his lover’s side and wrapped his arms around him. He gazes up at him and smiled.
“Thank you.” Alex whispered to Arronn’s ears as he ruffled his hair, protecting him in his hands. “You should tie that guy up, with your powers that is.” He eyed the broken handcuffs on the floor.
When did they even break.
“Good thinking.” I acknowledged Alex’s idea as he kissed Arronn’s hair, who is still very much breathing like he ran a marathon.
I awakened Custodio, stretching out my hand, blue hexagons appearing from thin air formed into thin poles, each locking in place on a small platform.
Slamming the built cage down on the floor, I asked Mike to place the man inside. He thrust his phone into his pocket and carried the man like a sack of feathers, throwing him inside with a clang.
In a flurry of grey clouds with bolts of green, my mother appeared, a suitcase in hand and a smile on her face. “You two have done more than the whole headquarters did in a week.” She laughed as she examined the man.
She scowled at him and spat. “That’s for threatening kids, little–.” She muttered the last part.
“I’ll take him far away from here, I hope all of you are okay,” she eyed Arronn still sniffling, “check with him, his powers may be getting to him.”
“Will do mom.” I stretched my body.
“Hey,” she leaned closer to me, “don’t be too comfortable, he’s only one of many.” Mom scolded.
A bit of guilt forming in my stomach. “Yes mom…”
“Good, now I have to go.” She walked inside the jail and grasped the man’s shoulder, and a thick flurry of clouds, she vanished along with the man.
I let the jail vanish into hexagons and letting my Dogma subside.
“Guys! You can come out now!” I thundered making sure the whole house heard me.
No reply. Huh.
“Guys!”
“GUYS!”
I snatched my phone from my pocket and punched everyone’s numbers, my heartbeat quickening intensely staring at my phone. Pressing the phone to my ear only to hear that the line’s busy. I dashed upstairs and peered to every room inside. Screaming their names that echoed throughout the from what I concluded in my racing mind, empty halls. I stared down from the landing of the staircase with a blank expression, gripping the banister as I clutched my heart.
They’re gone.
