Chapter-3 The FIRST CHASE!

1062 Words
“Who said only pirates could have the pleasure of hunting?” “Don’t die of ignorance.” Somewhere in a textbook, he remembered reading this line. Every time his hesitation took over his rule, he raised a war against it with this quote. To grab the mic in front of the crowd and raise a question to the correspondent on the stage or to grab the ball to do the penalty kick, this quote was his crutch. But, he never thought this quote would lend a hand now and in this way. “TAAK!!!” was the sound when the train doors hit after his hands forcibly braked and opened them- tough alloys they are. Folding the bag so that it could safely be hatched by the soft comfort of his rough palms, he rushed with it, stamping the ground with such harshness- the harshness would demand to dig another underground platform deep inside the metro station. The scarce crowd dotted here and there were hooked to his stunt of hurdling the barriers set for aligning the queue. They must be raised higher to tackle him. From there he shot himself to the subway and those poor, tired beggars settled in all nooks and corners were alarmed at his speed. The particular beggar acting blind actually quite hastened and was caught by the crowd, when Kai took a sharp turn very closely away from him. The lights set there for a while were meant to cinematize his run for the girl. If a photographer were able to witness his running there under the perfectly set bright blue-white lights, he would achieve his congenital benefit of picking the best picture in his lifetime, so his legs were accelerating so aggressively and sensationally cutting the air like a jet usually does to the dusting clouds. ‘Fella, have some patience!’ This would be our piece of advice for him, considering the chance of missing her in his forget-the-world-around running. One ripened aunty shouted, “i***t!!!” stunned at the sound and force, he crossed her. Immediately, the uncle cursed, “what a*s are you gonna f**k with at this speed?” sorry uncle and aunty, on behalf of our concerned hero Kai, he had transiently mortgaged his ears in chasing, no hunting (hunting was the better word since his hunger lion rage) her. All he wants is teleportation to the ground floor exit. What if she didn’t go to the exit and loiter somewhere around, like in the restroom giving her face touch-ups and making the bathroom mirror ecstatic by reflecting on her? She must have probably used the lift to reach the ground floor if she was supposedly about to exit the station right now. He didn’t seem to have the patience to wait for the lift, and excavators would die because of a sudden “engine attack” to compensate for the speed he wanted the escalator to take him to the top. Stairs were a better option and they too sounded almost like their life was in and out every microsecond when he crossed each step to the top. But what if she wasn’t there… Wait a minute, he found her! Each step he raised up, he couldn’t find the sun from the side through the glass wall, spreading its golden evening rays, but only that hypnotizing spark from her eyes which was appreciable only by youngsters, not even the ambiance of vehicles rushing the main road, but that soft sound- simultaneous with his suddenly hardened heartbeats- of her legs stepping into a cab at the station not even… Oh my god, she is so fast! She was already moving in the cab, and we would see about this description stuff later. But Kai proved himself brainy as a pigeon who doesn’t forget the direction. His other hand took his phone, scanned that barcode, and got that hour-cycle from the stand near the metro rail station, fed that wavy carry-bag to that open basket behind, then the rest lies with the cycle which must tolerate his harassment. Neither those thundering motorcycles nor the ‘tortoising’ fattened cars which exactly mimicked a colony of ants, could put a full stop to his hastened writing on the road with that pencil- the cycle, like a kid, would do for his teacher’s apathy of dictating speedily. “CH naught-naught five-eight, black cab, CH naught-naught five-eight, CH naught-naught…” Kai repeated this mantra, eventually got mixed in his lung, injected to the cells, spread and applied over the organs, even assisted WBCs in killing those nasty propagating germs, and after extraordinary riding came out with carbon-di-oxide from the lungs. Hoof! Suddenly, he took a clever turn on finding that car stuck in heavy traffic at a distance. All the way he lifted the cycle, he jumped that barrier which usually prohibits the entry of poor beggars and vagabonds resting there, aligned under that gigantic flyover which was accompanied by the crowding vehicles creating a jam. Then he ran parallel to those concrete-bearing concrete pillars and did the same jump with one hand holding the cycle and the other hand gripping the barrier and disguising the rainbow in that inverted ‘U’ making through jumping and reached another bank of the road- the road on which, in the middle, a gigantic flyover was planted. Fortunately, the other side of the road laid with those gigantic pillars pitched in the center which shriveled the road, was crystal clear, but there at back masses of cars and vans were swiftly flowing and at any time they might powder him and the cycle, but he was from a rifle on the other side. Within a short span, he literally, after getting shot up a bit on that speed-breaker, reached the slanting end of the flyover and he crossed courageously dashing vehicles from the flyover and completed a huge U-turn, adding the cycle to the exponentially increasing traffic on the former road and at a distance, this time behind him jogging that ‘CH naught-naught five-eight black cab.’ He thought of parking the cycle at another stand which he found near the hospital in front of him and waiting with that bag for the princess who was patiently arriving for the king in that elephant chariot. Also… Again, wait a minute! WHERE THE HELL DID HE LOSE THAT BAG!?
