“ The crane always waits for the right fish.”
We now look upon what had happened when we were immersed inside that clumsy-haired lady.
Kai was always tough to distract. Nevertheless, when that air, might be from those bushes racing with the train- might be those herbal breezes tiredly entering the train window after all their breeding with distant green mountain- might be or most probably the god sent an agent in opening a new phase in Kai’s life- refreshed those papers of the book- the alarming air woke him from the book-sleep and he could never lose that sweet reminiscence of “her” parrot voice or might be the voice of that one bird ranked first in having a soothing sound.
Waking from the book had essentially eased him booze of better wine- that distant girl. When he immediately drove his amber eyes among the crowd, out of all the traumas he had experienced so far, he entered that train, he still, like a kangaroo used to carry its weakling babies, carrying the nerve to recognize her among the crowd from the school days.
“It is the eyes.” He groaned half doubtfully. Yes, his eyes caught hers, or she ‘baited him’ with her eyes.
“who-who’s she!??” this was from our transient narrator, sitting opposite Kai, who turned back to her, who was so stunned but for another cause, when she finds her “WHAT THE f**k?!”
Before the readers go deep thinking and raise a logical doubt about how that curly-hair too had the nerve to recognize that distant pigeon among the herds like our Kai did, we must know that all these alluring albatrosses were accused of another crime of illegal fishing with their whole mass as bait to the pathetic people’s fish-eyes. Even the one who is in his/her very last seconds would like to get up and gaze at these girls when they cross and would like to receive a satisfying dismissal. One such blue bird-of-paradise, leaning on that slim train pillar, talking on earphones, oops, squawking to her friend bird. Why are there a few unfortunate urbans who still don't set their eyes on that rural sparrow?
Those who were sitting and standing all crowded in the golden evening of that metro train, turned from that bird at whom our Kai was still stunned, not attempting to look at her despite her loud and sweet squawking, because they all would actually be thinking it was one among the sounds of the birds out, which was usual in energetic evenings of metro trains pumping through and waking up with its “kooo!!!” all remote areas of “Chace” city.
Coming back to Kai, his heart was again with those aggressive rushes he usually gets after heavy cricket or when he doesn’t receive the appropriate signals from the radar while operating the plane. Yeah, he was a pilot and the circumstances which led him to do air training are in ongoing chapters.
Also, coming back to Kai emotively crushing the cushion of his seat. His mind was with all such fearful negligence repeating, “it isn’t her! it isn’t her!”, rather his heart compelling him to approach her at least now to compensate for those chances he wanted to miss in his schooldays. Whenever he turned back from her, it was only his physical, not the romantic Kai inside him. He must excuse his mind at least now!
The inside of the train suddenly suited a dark tone. Like most passengers who wake from their respective “periods of sleep”, that bird too entered the real world after squawking with her friend on earphones, and looked at the surroundings to assure her presence on the train. The metro train slanting down to the underground track waving ‘ta-ta’ to the outside ambiance in an instance. So we can confirm that the usual time lag in the popping of lights inside each compartment whenever these metro trains shoot through the underground platforms, a god-sent agent in opening a new phase in her life. Why?!
As the train became quite darker, she deviated from her friend, put down her bag and searched for a tight grip to tackle the unbalance due to low lighting, and got a light grip on Kai’s eyes. Quite expected, right?
Now, we wanted her too to be filled with all the frustrations that Kai was now getting injected into, or at least share his overflowing flourishment of the extremely rare surrealistic situation of meeting a schoolday's crush after a long time. But we again need to recollect from all our “missing of chances”, that these girls are… CUNNING! This hummingbird, at the speed of her fluttering wings, turned her gaze from him, and continued with her squawking as the lights turned on, which reminded Kai of the teenage sensation of waking him and all the lads in his orphanage from their beds turning on all the lights. Again, yeah, from his preteen to teen he was raised in a refugee-like orphanage and, as said earlier, reasons are in subsequent chapters and the graceful readers are requested to not think that this was an excuse to ‘creativity lag.’
Kai mentally modified himself to a 'bluffing' and 'rotating' cake inside the oven. Here ‘bluffing’ means the new synapses lighting in his brain which were off for a loooooong while. Travelling is important for humans and throughout his short experience of traveling as a pilot, Kai understood and substituted his earlier self-worn misunderstanding with a new one- ‘we are communal creatures that are all of the same species, yet our location determines societal actions based on cultured and governmental laws. We are so similar, yet our little worlds are so entirely different,’ and so this ‘bluffing’ became obese.
Then the 'rotating' was his mind got into within seconds. Kai, who believes, or which he uses as a usual excuse for his mind to ignore girls, by rubbing his hand gently on his chest, “They are vixens. Soft boozes like wine. Arrest men and doom their groom and leave them in drastic situations.” Though the girl readers disagree, we must be true to our hero and this thought was like a quote to be written on the top of all the blackboards in boys' school. But it had been 15 years since his dysfunctional relationship with his mother’s aunt, which was one of the reasons he was forcibly sentenced to a refuge like an orphanage, to change his theme from ‘all girls are f*****g vixens’ to ‘all girls are not vixens.’
Finally, the oven was the atmosphere inside the train. Here we need to recollect that these metro trains flourished with air-conditioners, but in front of her casual presence, we need to kidnap Mt. Everest and lock it inside the train. In particular, he felt like he was dissolving like ashes starting very deep inside- from his heart, the moment she turned her gaze from him as though she never knew him.
Oops!!! What had happened?! The moment when we were busy exploring Kai, “the time” showed its cunning phase. The train had eventually arrived at a stop and the bird flew out of the train! The compartment doors are about to close. Will Kai follow her? But what about the friend whose legs got fractured and was admitted to a distant hospital near the sea coast which was the actual reason Kai was on that train? As the food inside the oven would vibrate when it was ready, Kai shackled at her departure. But, wait a minute. WHAT IS THAT?
There, at that same distance and on that same thin metallic pillar where the bird was resting, she left her bag which was leaning on that pillar.
Will he take a chance now and go and get that bag to return it? What about this? Maybe that bag contains something very important and if he returns there are chances for them to fall for each other!! But… wait, who is that f**k?!
When we were busy with our assumptions about the bag, one of the pathetic fellas, so long sighting the bird, got the nerve to take it and seems to take the responsibility to return it to her. The door was still open but might close at any time and she wouldn’t have left the station yet because, though she was compared with birds, she was not actually a bird to fly away quickly.
WOW! When the door started to close, hands from nowhere pushed the guy back who took her bag and eventually grabbed that bag with the utmost care that it wouldn’t hurt it, and with the care given in grabbing the bag itself, we could say IT WAS THE HANDS OF….
