My parents smile at me and motion for me to go to them, they spread out their arms and I hug them. I was feeling quite smug that I had said good things about them and my brothers hadn’t. I sit down beside Chris when he whispers into my ears that my gown was stained with sauce.
I gasp and then it hits me why the people were really staring at me. At that point, I was really grateful Natasha didn’t know when it happened. She would’ve teased me nonstop.
Chris whispers “I’m coming” into my ear. Minutes later and people have started leaving the table to dance again. I try to conceal my being uncomfortable but Tami notices.
“Are you okay?” she asks, I nod and smile before replying with “Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?”
