Mira's desk lamp had cast a golden pool of light across the drafting table, illuminating the crisp white of the new stadium blueprints she'd worked on all night. Outside the window, the city had fallen silent, traffic a muffled hum, neon signs flickering watchfully into the darkness. She rubbed her temples, eyes closed for a moment, when the door to her office creaked open. "Thane?" she whispered, surprised.
